NATHANIEL R in Django Unchained, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, magazines, politics

The one and only Kerry Washington is front and center on the cover of this month's Vibe, flanked by Django Unchained co-stars Leo & Jamie.

You can read the whole cover story @ Vibe. But I did want to throw this bit about politics and a cute video of the photo shoot out there for discussion...

VIBE: Speaking of the election, what is it about Hollywood that makes it a liberals-only club?

FOXX: It's the one-percenters who are actually liberal. We're artists. I'm just here to make jokes and sing and have a good time and make people feel good. When I walk down the street, I don't see anything; I just see folks. I always look at it like this. It's weird to me that we can be in a war and be fighting someone right now with guns and bullets in 2012. It doesn't make sense. That's why I am politically where I am. It doesn't come down to economy. My worry is what is happening to another human.

WASHINGTON: I think our job is to step into somebody else's shoes as actors. So I think we are open to other people's journeys. Because our jobs is to be empathetic. To say, ‘‘How does this person see the world, how does this person think about things?” Our job is to think about the other person. I think that has a lot to do with it.

Kerry's answer makes total artistic/political sense but wth is Jamie Foxx on about with that one percent comment?

Oddly though I wasn't invited to the NYC Django Unchained screening yesterday I did speak with Kerry Washington -- she hadn't seen the film yet either! -- stay tuned for that interview this week.
