Jose in Cannes, Naomi Campbell, Nicole Kidman, Red Carpet Lineup, The Beguiled

Church of Kidman pastor Jose here. Last we saw Nicole, she was killing sacred deer and being the toast of Cannes in her custom CK and Dior gowns. I was planning to hold a vigil until another apparition, when suddenly...

There she was gliding across the red carpet looking all effortless and regal. Then it appeared she spotted something that drew her attention. I present you now with...

What do you think these two whispered about? How do they know each other? Do all beautiful divas attract each other like magical asteroids? Who has a stronger gravitational pullforce? We might never know, so let us pray...

Who She Wore: Armani Privé
Which Director She's Trying to Lure: Nicole attended the Cannes 70th Anniversary celebration in a flirty Privé gown with beach hair. Was she planning on dancing the night away at a seaside campfire afterwards? If so, she must clearly be trying to lure Lars Von Trier again and have him write her Washington at last.
What Faunia Farley would think of this: "Action is the enemy of thought"

Who She Wore: Alexander McQueen
Which Director She's Trying to Lure: At the photocall for The Beguiled Nicole's tissue-like McQueen made me wonder if she had sewn her dress with the remains of those who dare challenge her power. Clearly she's much too magnanimous for that and her fleshy gown is bait for Clint Eastwood who not only starred in the original Beguiled but is one of the few auteurs Nicole hasn't worked with.
What Isabel Archer would think of this: "Why should there be pain then?"

If you've wondered who are the beguiled, the answer is simple:

It's every person who stood in the presence of Nicole at the premiere of the Sofia Coppola film. Judging from the way her co-stars and director look at her, she might be the most enchanting person alive.

Who She Wore: Michael Kors
Which Director She's Trying to Lure: She screams flapper girl and considering Baz Luhrmann usually attends Cannes she might be trying to reunite with him.
What Virginia Woolf would think of this: "I choose not the suffocating anesthetic of the suburbs, but the violent jolt of the Capital.

With this premiere we might not get to see more of Nicole at Cannes, unless of course she picks up an award for one of her performances or the Palme d'Or itself, which she clearly deserves. Which of her looks has been your favorite so far?
