Just trying to get some work done. TGIF 😼

Happy birthday today to the goddess Michelle Pfeiffer. She's turning 63, so we'll hopefully get an Instagram post but until then please enjoy this photo of our pfavourite Catwoman "at work". She has actually been at work though, oh happy days.

Next up is the TV miniseries The First Lady which we've discussed previously in which she'll play Betty Ford. She completed filming her scenes a week ago, letting us know with this Instagram photo / caption...

Bye bye, Betty. #TheFirstLady

With her children flying the nest a few years ago she's been increasingly active. It's been two years since the launch of her fragrance line "Henry Rose" which obviously went well and recently she's returned to movies with the delicious character of "Frances Price" in French Exit (in theaters if you can find one near you) and her next film after that will be Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania though that won't hit theaters until late 2022... if there are still movie theaters *cries*

ANYWAY A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR PFAV

In Pfeiffer-Adjacent News
This morning I discovered that another musician has referenced her in a song (following the rather famous examples of "Uptown Funk" and "Riptide"). The musician is Ethel Cain, a trans artist from the album (or ep?) "Inbred". The song doesn't name the actress directly but the title of the song is "Michelle Pfeiffer". Cryptic. There doesn't appear to be a video but here are the lyrics.

everything’s easier way out west
wholly mad and half undressed
i love the way it always feels to miss you
i tell all my friends every thing you do
a sick obsession that i still try to prove but it’s no good, cause who am i without you

[Chorus] home’s not home unless you’re there
i’ll never be ready but i don’t care
wide awake all night thinking about you
do you think of me too?
i hate to let you go, but if i don’t then we both know
i’ll bury us both, fed to the night as ghosts

i keep on losing track of time
cause what’s the point if you’re not by my side
i told my mom about you, she just laughed
driving with my eyes closed, hope i crash
maybe we could be together in another life
maybe this could be forever in another timeline
but right now, i gotta pack my bags
and i won’t even miss you tomorrow

[chorus]

washed out days and stone cold nights
best goddamn days of your whole life
jack the car and let it ride
kicking it, baby, we’ll survive
i’m all run and you’re all fight
tangling with jesus christ
total ruin idolized but the kids will be alright

[chorus]
