Can you guess the movie from its first and last shot?
The answer is after the jump...
Happy 47th birthday today to Benedict Cumberbatch!
That's The Imitation Game (2014) currently streaming on Netflix, which begins and ends with Benedict's distinct face, but it's not a one man show. The movie was up for 8 Oscars in its year, winning 1 (Adapted Screenplay). Do you remember it fondly? I weirdly do. I remember a very specific Oscar party at a gazillionaire's home in Manhattan for this movie (an apartment so big it had a coat check room within a lobby and the party stretched across multiple sitting rooms like something out of the Gilded Age or Downton Abbey). The Imitation Game is also, I believe, the one and only "gay" film I've watched with my conservative biological family (while visiting over the Christmas holidays). And they actually liked it.
Remember that weird Oscar campaign "Honor the man. Honor the film"?
