Who Should Win (Vote Daily)

How'd I Do on Predictions?

Who Was Left Out?
If you're only looking at pre-cursor season the big snub was Margot Robbie for Barbie. Other women who might have had a shot had the winds blown differently were Greta Lee in Past Lives and Natalie Portman in May December
Who Will Win?
While Emma Stone's daring, wild, physically impressive, and vocally dextrous performance feels mammoth to this writer, award season hasn't made her the indisputed frontrunner so we think Lily Gladstone takes the Oscar for her well loved sympathetic portrayal of a woman being poisoned by her husband in Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon.
How'd They Get Nominated?
She's Annette Bening and they kinda owe her. Oscar loves biopic performances in general  Killer narrative, strong performance, and a film with enduring Best Picture heat is a winning combo  The critical darling of the year and it helps that she had two festival sensations in the same calendar year  Oscar has been fickle with her but they surely noticed how Cooper's camera fawned all over her gift.  She's a previous winner surprising again with a complicated funny and daring star turn for the ages
Trivia Time

Gemini

A Tony, Emmy, and Oscar nominee but she's yet to win any of Triple Crown prizes. Justice for Annette!

Leo

The first Native American to be nominated for any acting category. The previous Indigenous acting nominees were from other countries (Canada, Mexico, Tahiti, etc)

Taurus

A tri-lingual performance (it's not the first  nominated but it's the most truly multi-lingual since Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds

Gemini

She's been nominated at the Tonys, Globes, EFAs, and Oscars but her only major showbiz prizes to date have been from BAFTA (An Education) and Critics Choice  (Promising Young Woman).

Scorpio

She's the only Best Actress nominee this year that's a previous winner of the category. Can she pull off a double?
