WHAT SHOULD WIN? (You can vote daily!)

WHAT WILL WIN?

Oppenheimer will be nearly impossible to beat with the combination of being a critical darling, beautifully executed in all craft categories, a box office phenomenon and substantive in ways the Academy generally wants in their winners (historical, "important", and prestigious)

WHAT WAS LEFT OUT?

Before the summer of "Barbenheimer" stretched on into the fall it looked like other early year releases like Air, Asteroid City, and Across the Spider-Verse might be contenders (in one way or another) but it was not to be. Later in the year high profile awards hopefuls like May December, Ferrari, Napoleon, The Color Purple were met with either shrugs or divisive reactions from the public, industry, or media. Festival International titles that looked like they had crossover potential like The Taste of Things, and Society of the Snow fell victims to a lack of campaigning or the "international" dominance of Sandra Hüller's lauded double feature. If we had to guess which film landed in the 11th spot, it'd be Saltburn.
