Who SHOULD win (Vote Daily!)

How'd I do on my predictions?
4/5 While I correctly saw Judd Hirsch coming, I thought Paul Dano would make it in too for the same film. The nominee I left out was Brian Tyree Henry (who I had had as the fifth-spotter for literally months. Whoops

Who was left out?
Paul Dano was obviousy the big snub after a lot of precursor love. But it was a tight race and we suspect Brad Pitt (Babylon), Eddie Redmayne (The Good Nurse), and Mark Rylance (Bones and All) also won their fair share of votes given precursor buzz and success. Anyone else was probably well behind though.

Who WILL win?
Ke Huy Quan has proved such a sweeper that it's not even a contest anymore.

HOW'D THEY GET NOMINATED?
40% Heat for Banshees of Inisherin in all categories
32% Colin Farrell & Martin McDonagh. What a trio they make. Package deal
12% Precursor lockstep support
10% Performance / Role
Oscar loves an antagonist and tortured artists/musicians and he sorta fits both as he creates the conflict.
5% He's Brendan Gleeson. He's always been very watchable onscreen.

50% Performance. Magnetic and this time (for a change) he had screen time and character detail to work with. Accent work!
20% Role. Sympathetic w/ disability.
10% Rapidly rising stardom / reputation.
8% Focused branch appeal. Like To Leslie this is textbook "actors movie"
6% Jennifer Lawrence
4% Critical raves
2% Limited passion for the men who looked more likely for this slot.

40% Lifetime
Achievement pull He's Judd Hirsch, enduring treasure of stage/screen
30% Fabelman's early
Best Picture heat helped with traction
14% Performance/ Role. It may be brief but it's showy
10% Oscar clip realness with gesture "It'll tear you apart!"
5% Less passion for Paul Dano & Eddie Redmayne than expected.
1% Ordinary People
43% Performance. He steals all his scenes and takes you by surprise given the first impression
27% Heat for Banshees of Inisherin in all categories + campaign coattails: a tight enough ensemble that they felt like a package deal.
11% "There goes that dream" Line reading of the year?
10% Precursor support
5% Rising stardom / rep
4% Role. It wouldn't have landed in lesser hands!
32% Unbeatable 'child star comeback' narrative (pt 1).
22% Best Picture heat
20% Unfailing Media & Precursor support x Box Office Success = declared the winner months ago
15% Performance / Role. In another life he'd love to do laundry with you!
7% Michelle Yeoh Mania
4% Narrative (pt 2) = Steven Spielberg! In a happy coincidence the man who discovered him was omnipresent this season
