The 83rd Oscars (Celebrating the Films of 2010) Are History
Who Won: COLIN FIRTH, The King's Speech with some gargantuan percentage of the votes. It was like Helen Mirren in the Queen all over again.
Should've Won: JESSE EISENBERG, The Social Network. Sure, some of the spark and magic here is in the casting but that's a part of every great performance. Eisenberg has rarely been this subtle, carefully modulated and expertly both deployed in the service of and as master of the film's mood and shape. He's the easy winner for me here, with a performance full of dark wit, great line deliveries, and barely understood emotional undercurrents. But it's a great lineup. Well done Oscar.
