What is this list? THIS LIST IS NOT... ...a list meant to reflect consensus. For example: The Godfather (1972) is a great film and deserving of its classic status. You'll get no argument for me. But because I have no true personal connection to it, it does not appear. ... it is also not a list about recent films. I believe in allowing films a decade to settle first. This list covers films made between 1927 (the earliest film represented) to 2001. THIS LIST IS... ...a list of movies I love because of but also beyond their merits. For a clue as to the movies that might appear... the "top ten" pulldown menu looks at films by year. |
