Finally got her due with Oscar after that egregious snub for Happy-Go-Lucky by offering tricky support to Blanchett's powerhouse lead

She keeps playing roles she's too young for but she's definitely "it" right now. Lights up every screen in this hilarious and BIG star turn

Her performance as the slave her master calls "queen of the fields" is rich and haunting. It's a star-maker.

Julia leads the bitter funny ensemble in August: Osage County. If it had been a bigger hit it would've been a big comeback

She's a crowd-pleasing noisy standout in this otherwise quiet Alexander Payne hit

Which Clip Did Oscar Show?
"biggest loser" Ginger lashes out at Jasmine for her misfortune "I will make you so sorry"
Rosalyn lashes out at Sydney in the bathroom
"I will be clean" Patsey pleads with Master Epps for soap  "I'm running things now!" the drug raid begins and Barbara takes over  Kate visits the cemetery, flashes the grave of an old boyfriend
Who Got Snubbed?
In the dread sixth spot: That was probably Oprah Winfrey for The Butler, who looked like a potential winner in the summer but her film didn't hold up well as the prestige pics started hitting and the precursor support was spotty.
We'll forever wonder why Margo Martindale, Scarlett Johansson, and Sarah Paulson and others didn't win traction in a competition that narrowed down to 6 people way way too quickly in a rich film year.
