Who Got Left Out? Denmark (8 noms/3 wins) "SuperClásico", Taiwan "Warriors of the Rainbow", Morocco"Omar Killed Me", and Germany "Pina" were the four finalists that didn't manage nominations. But they did make the finals which is tough to do. 50+ other films can't say the same from Albania to Ireland and Israel to Vietnam Who Will Win? Iran's A SEPARATION (also nominated for screenplay) is the clear frontrunner but this particular category almost never has completely safe bets. Amélie lost despite plentiful Oscar nominations and other frontrunners have too. It's the rare category where AMPAS members are required to see all nominees before voting on a winner. They really should do that with every category. Imagine how volatile every race would be if they had to be informed voters! |
