With a Friend Like Emma...

And the prize for "Best Reaction Shot" of Oscar night goes to an overwhelmed Emma Stone cheering on her friend and surprise Oscar winner Olivia Colman. While we're sad the producers didn't also give us enough cutaways to Rachel Weisz (hopefully occupied by snogging Daniel Craig) and the sight of a tearful Yorgos Lanthimos was unexpected and heartwarming, nothing tops the effusive affection of a friend. Hang this in the Louvre next to Kate Winslet's clasped hands in support of Leo DiCaprio.

It's 4 years ago and Emma did regret it..... Jesus. Why don't you guys don't come to Jake Gyllenhaal and Matt Damon for the whitewashings they've done.....

Istg if one of them was on Emma's place during the Golden Globes, y'all would call him a hero. Just say y'all hate women and go.

Also I'm surprised people barely dragged Tilda Swinton for playing an Asian character and will continue to do so.... I hate the selective criticism.

Also, how do you know Emma's reaction was fake? Are you a psychologist or something? Stop acting like she's a villain.

"Sorry, my last comment meant to say her chances of being nominated again are very high. My logic and rational thinking failed me momentarily, this thread is surprisingly fraught."

I did not write the above comment. Someone is definitely trolling. It's a pity that this blog doesn't have a certified forum wherein commenting is locked in via a verifiable identity/handle. The current set up is based on the honor system, which obviously is open to being hacked.

Perhaps Nathaniel or Chris can see who posted the fake comment attributed to me via the ip address or something?

Clearly my criticism of Stone has rattled some of her hardcore stans.

H., I am equally critical of Twilda Swinton, Scarlett Johanson...etc. However, don't forget that the topic at hand is EMMA STONE. Chris Feil the writer/blogger that made this topic, specifically focused on how thrilled she appears for her friend and colleague's oscar win. For the record, I never said that Stone's reaction was fake, only that I was and am frustrated by her stans swarming this blog and others with praise for her that borders on being hagiographic. My comments and criticism of Stone are valid to the discussion, since you know, the topic is about her. A conversation to the broader discrimination, marginalization, and white washing of roles for actors of color and other visible ethnic minorities falls outside the scope of this particular topic and needs to be addressed separately in its own post. Perhaps Nathaniel and the other bloggers would be willing to do that. It's their blog and their call.

You said "Stop acting like she's a villain." My response is 'Stop acting like she's a hero.' She is most definitely NOT to the Asian acting community, to Asians, and to other enlightened people that were offended by her actions and the white washing role she took on in Aloha. What she did is akin to black face and is just as offensive.

You're clearly a fan of Emma Stone. That's your right. It's my right to not be a fan. Live and let live, and let this be the end to this.

These comments are becoming increasingly awful to read. I think I’ll stick to the wonderful writing from here on in.

Well done, folks.

Just wanted to chime in one last time to say that I'm glad that the post falsely attributed to me was removed.
