Chloe Moretz's "Dark Shadows" Cheekbones & Tom Hardy Aversion

I'm not at all sure why I'm sharing this as I have definitely not boarded the Chloe Moretz train with the rest of the world. But I listened to this entire interview with the 14 year old starlet this morning. If you can get past the chaotic bratty noisiness of the interview (yes, I felt old... "Get off my lawn!") in which Chloe grosses out about 14 year old's dating 13 year olds -- but 16 year olds dating 17 year olds is totes different! -- you get to the Dark Shadows bits and a unusually revealing (though probably not intentionally-so) moment when she seems completely repulsed at the mention of Tom Hardy ---maybe it's the trapezius?

I've excerpted the two fun bits which you can play at the end of this post about working with the superstars in the Dark Shadows cast (and their cheekbones) and the moment when the interviewer compares Chloe's boyfriend (?) to Tom Hardy. There's a lot more if you go to the actual interview.

When asked to describe Dark Shadows Chloe Moretz says...

It's a mixture of Beetlejuice and Sweeney mixed with Sleepy Hollow."

Good to see Tim Burton branching out!!!

Her best role is still the episode of 30 Rock she guested in.

Funny story: The part she's playing in Dark Shadows is the one Jessica Chastain played in the WB pilot.

The girl is only 14. I'm not a huge fan of her but I think she's talented. She's very good in Let Me In and made Kick-Ass bearable. She's taking interesting career moves at a such a young age. Would that other teenage starlets follow her example. It's ridiculous how some people will just hate on a YOUNG GIRL.

Miss Tufsy -- true. She's only 14 and will have a lot of opportunities to prove herself. Hopefully the talent will grow. It's always so weird when people are acclaimed super young. sometimes they stagnate quickly and other times they end up a Jodie Foster.

I agree. I think she can at least be respected for that. And she managed to annoy me less than Hailee Steinfeld (apart from Steinfeld's flawless red carpet attire).

OMG I never would have thought you would mention Chloe in a headline. I'm afraid you will learn to love her. Ha ha. Slowly. You will barely notice.

I'm over 30, I just can't bring myself to watch the interview. LOL

On the upside I found out that Burton brought some of the original DS actors to London for a group cameo. I was wishing for more but what can you do? If I can find somewhere online where more info is posted I''ll share.

Bratty noisiness? Well, blame the host. She and Chloe are practically girlfriends and all of their radio interviews have come off like slumber parties. Most of the time Moretz gets criticized for being too mature for her age. Turns out Ricky Nelson was right: You can't please everyone...

The gif is obviously Chloe's reaction to the question: Which new movies are you <I>not in?

September 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJames T

That was meant to be: not

September 7, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJames T

I don't care how talented she is, Chloe Moretz's fame is creepy. She's always dressing in clothes far too innappropriate for someone of her age and making sexually suggestive poses at red carpet premieres. Her brother gives off the vibe of a man who's living his failed acting dreams through his sister. Her fanbase is even worse. It's unhealthy for someone to be that obsessed with a 14 year old girl. I have seen a few of her movies but I just don't see her appeal.

Well you'll have to tell me how she does in Dark Shadows. Can't stomach another Tim Burton retread.

September 8, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterSawyer

Mrs. Ex, you're entitled to your opinion, but the charged assertions you made should be backed up. As a fan of Ms. Moretz, I take exception to them.

@James T "The gif is obviously Chloe's reaction to the question: Which new movies are you not in?"

Actually the gif is her reaction to the question 'who's your favorite Teletubby?'
