The saddest part of Phoenix story is that he'll end up having to attend the show, just to smile when someone else wins, which I guess is the way Hollywood has to spank him for being a bad boy.

Also, I'm ok with Affleck becoming the hip actor/director choice if that means we'll be seeing less of him on screen.

Glenn's piece about Jennifer Lawrence and the Best Actress race was very incisive. But the praise for Leslie Mann made me cringe. A very brittle actress with a grating manner. His use of the phrase "pull the rip cord" was fortuitous, because she just might need it if I see her in a plane with an open door.
