Like Crazy To Leave Jennifer Lawrence?

A few notes on Like Crazy, just out on dvd and bluray, today over at Towleroad.

I was hoping to write about Immortals today but I haven't received my screener yet. ("Grrrr" he says in elaboratedly costumed musclebound anger). So let's all feel sorry for romantically tortured Anton Yelchin in the comments.

Would you leave Jennifer Lawrence for Felicity Jones?

Jennifer Lawrence was more heartbreaking in Like Crazy than Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones combined.

Movie Fan Answer: Felicity Jones' character is part of the reason why the movie wasn't a home run for me. The whole plot of the film hinges on her being an impatient moron. Whereas Lawrence character was fairly likable.

Shallow Answer: Although I always like a girl with a British accent, Jennifer Lawrence is the far more attractive of the two.

Overall, there's NO way I would leave Lawrence for Jones.

No, he was like crazy to dump her, and she was smart not to go back a third time.

Totally on board with this. Thought Jennifer Lawrence was the best part of the movie. I kept thinking, 'What's your problem, dude? She's better.'

I love the chemistry between Yelchin and Jones, it makes me forget about Jenny Lawrence until the end of the movie.

That's part of the movie's appeal to me. I think most of us, if not all, have passed over possibly better relationships because we were with, longing or getting over somebody bad for us. It's one of Like Crazy's best traits in my opinion.

Would I leave Jennifer Lawrence in that film? Hell no. She played such a beautiful, honest, and caring person that I started to get aggravated with the main romance. Lawrence stole the film for me and still makes my Supporting Actress line-up.

Leave Jennifer Lawrence? The perfect woman? Inconceivable.

Daniel, I completely agree. Like Crazy's central characters are so obnoxious and unsympathetic that it's hard to care what happens to them. It's like a hipster Annie Hall, only with people you hate.

Moral of the movie: listen to your mother.

I'm impressed that they gave Jennifer Lawrence's character a lot of integrity. But Felicity Jones all the way.

Never! Jennifer all the way.

Hey, love is stupid sometimes.

The question isn't who the people reading the the comments would want to be in a relationship with, the reality is that it was clear Jacob was just phoning it in for Sam, as great as she was... for some reason, it was Anna that got stuck in the crannies of his mind.

This kind of thing happens all the time -- someone looks great on paper, but the zing isn't there, whereas maybe for someone else it would be. Kind of tragic...
