I Want To Make Love To The Moonrise Kingdom Poster

JA from MNPP here. Is that weird? I want to lay down beside a roaring fire, a bottle of wine, some Barry White on the record player, and be gentle yet firm, slow but steady, with the poster for Wes Anderson's new movie Moonrise Kingdom. (via) It's okay if you tell me I am being weird. I have been told I'm weird before and I'll be told I'm weird again, especially if I'm the sort of guy that's driven mad with lust by a rectangle. But the curly yellow font! The names that the curly yellow font spells! (Bill! Tilda! Frances!) The toadstools and the owl! The brook bubbling sensually in the distance! It's too much, too much, I must have my way with it immediately.

Its a poster of two kids...just sayin.

Well now it's all inappropriate.

I think it's beautiful! It reminds me of a book in a junior high school library that I'd check out when I was 13. . . haha

It would be much better without all the text. I love Bob Balaban as much as the next guy, but who needs his name on the poster. All you need is Wes's name and the title, and then make room for the gorgeous image. The rest is a logical conclusion.

Ed Norton appearing in a movie that is both 1. Mainstream and 2. Has the possibility of critical kudos is the real draw for me. What was the last movie he was in that would satisfy both of those criteria? Fight Club?

I'm not pressing play on the Barry White but the poster looks absolutely charming.

Bob Balaban....just rewatched Gosford Park last night. Going to love him in Wes Anderson world!

Its a poster of two kids

Exactly.

March 9, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter3rtful

Oh, exactly! Thanks for underlining that 3rtful since my obvious intention was to brazenly sexualize children. I must have accidentally edited out the sentence where I wrote about that in explicit detail. I'll make sure to underline it myself in future posts. Kids: This Fall's HOT Accessory! Stay tuned.

The poster's pretty great, but I'm more excited for Tilda's cape and Bill Murray's patchwork pants.

Fantastic poster and great news about it opening Cannes this year

It's pretty ridiculous for me to believe that you didn't for a second think that maybe making a post about making love to a poster featuring two children would be taken the wrong way. It's also rather ridiculous for you to get up in arms about it like somehow we're the ones in the wrong.

Maybe next time try reviewing what you write/post.

Kids: This Fall's HOT Accessory!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaha

March 9, 2012 | Unregistered Commenter3rtful

No it didn't occur to me and quite frankly I'm insulted by the insinuation. I was just trying to have some lighthearted fun with a beautiful piece of art and post about it in a not-boring way, and even if I had gone back and reviewed what I wrote a dozen times I wouldn't have thought what I wrote meant what you're reading. I apologize if that's what anybody got out of it, but my intentions were nothing of the sort.

Anyway it's a beautiful piece of art and I want to buy it a milkshake and go ride roller-coasters with it for an afternoon with a court-sanctioned supervisor present at all times.

I am astonished by some of the comments. I for sure didn't for a second think that making a post about making love to a poster featuring two children could be taken the wrong way.

It is really beautiful.
