Twins: Band of Marshall-Green-Hardy Brothers
twins daily @ 2:22 PM during Gemini
Rising star Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) -- who we were recently talking about since he's about to play Tennessee Williams -- is pictured left... or is it right? He has a twin brother named Taylor (who is not an actor) also pictured to your left... or right. They are not actually identical but fraternal according to Logan but they coulda fooled me.
To make things more confusing (and more delightful for the internets) people keep mistaking Logan for another rising star Tom Hardy (Bronson, Inception, This Means War). Hardy does not share DNA with the Marshall-Green twins having been born to totally different parents on a different continent 10 months apart.
And yet...
To make things more confusing⁴...
- Tom and Logan both made their screen debut in Band of Brothers (2001). Tom played a Brit and Logan a German.... but still. How weird is that as coincidences go?
- Tom & Logan seem to have similar taste in (changing) hair affectations.
- Tom (Lawless) & Logan (Prometheus) are both currently co-starring with Guy Pearce (albeit in separate movies).
- Tom came to the recent Prometheus premiere which Logan also naturally attended being one of its stars. Unfortunately the internet has (at this writing) denied us pictures of the two twin-like actors standing in each other's general vicinity. Damn you internets!
Over the course of the past four years Tom Hardy's career has been going supernova whilst Logan Marshall-Green has been sexing up Marisa Tomei. So it's kind of a draw.
Maybe Logan and Taylor and Tom should have all played "Number 14" together in Battlestar Galactica instead of wasting time with sci-fi pictures like Prometheus (Logan) and Star Trek: Nemesis (Hardy). Or maybe Marisa and Logan should've replaced Reese & Chris Pine and co-starred with Hardy in a better sexier smarter version of This Means War or maybe th--- okay, okay. I'll stop now. But the point being: The Film Experience ♥ twins.
P.S. I have not yet seen Prometheus but I'll rectify the situation tomorrow and we'll discuss.

Good looking guys. I'm jealous.
After seeing Prometheus last night my only real thoughts on Logan Marshall-Green were that he is sort of an abjectly impoverished man's Tom Hardy. He hasn't a quarter the charisma or intensity of Tom Hardy, but looks kinda like him. I don't know that I buy him as a rising star anyway. I think he'll suffer by this particular comparison and it won't do him any favors over the next few years.
HOLY GOD.
I actually am more attracted to Logan, but this is the first time I've known of his existence lol.
Not sure who I am more jealous of... Tomei for being with the hot guy or the hot guy for being with one of my favorite actresses.
Btw, I love the twins theme.
LM-G looked great in PROMETHEUS, but I agree with Casey that he lacked Hardy's charisma and intensity. I remain firmly (ahem) on Team Hardy.
Yeah I guess acting-wise you have to give a leg up to Hardy, but looks-wise I'm on Team Logan I think. And I didn't know he's with Tomei. For some reason that gives him bonus points to me.
What great timing you have, Nathaniel. Buzzfeed just did a feature on Friday about the similarity in looks between Marshall-Green and Hardy. The resemblance is indeed striking, and he and his actual twin could pass for identical if judging solely from the photo above. The only remaining question is how long before the two actors ultimately play brothers in a film.
For me, Logan Marshall-Green is such a glaring weak link in the film. No charisma, no likeability, no oomph to the performance while Noomi Rapace is selling the hell out of it (for me anyway, a quick glance at reviews suggests this isn't a universal opinion). He was useless, and given that he had such a major role, I am amazed that Ridley Scott didn't recognize that weakness earlier and make changes.
I thought this as well. If you look in imdb for a pick of Logan with short hair and stubble he is also a ringer for the late Andy Whitfield.
If you put Corey Stoll in that mix, they would arguably be the world's most perfect triplets.
I have met Logan Marshall-Green as he is the son of my college acting teacher Lowry Marshall, and since I was already familiar with him, I had SWORN that was him in Inception (doing a British accent) when I saw it. But I shortly thereafter realized I was wrong. They are quite doppelgangery indeed. Logan is also very hot in person.
