I'm so happy Perks has been getting love this season for its Screenplay. It's such an endearing movie, and it's still sitting in my top five for the year.

Ty Burr is the first critic I've seen give their top spot to Beasts, which I find pretty interesting. It seems like the kind of film that people would be passionate about, but it hasn't really been cited as often or as high as I would have expected considering its pretty rapturous critical response. Is it that the movie has faded in memory since its spring release? Is it that it didn't age well in the minds of critics? Is it hesitation to advocate for something from a first time director?

Oh and totally agreed on Perks. Improves on rewatch too.
