Curio: Monsters' Day Off

Alexa here. With spooky season almost behind us, it only seems right to feature these illustrations of various film monsters on their day off by Chicago illustrator Kiersten Essenpries.  Ever wonder how Michael Myers keeps his jumper so crease-free? How Pinhead makes a little extra cash? Whether Leatherface works in any medium besides flesh? Kiersten has the answers after the jump...

Kiersten's pop culture artwork has been featured many times at Gallery 1988, and her interest in Halloween couture is the subject of her work both painted and sculptural. You can see more after the jump and on herwebsite, and buy prints at her etsy shop

the hellraiser one is the funnies IMO. Maybe I'm biased because my dad is a magician, even though that is the very reason i hate magic. But i have to love it too i guess

These are great! My favorite is the Norman Bates one, I think.

Uhh...technically, Sigourney Weaver would be Zool, one of the two horned pooches (the other would be Vinz Clortho [sp?] as.portrayed by Rick Moranis). The god covered in cotton candy on the park bench is "...Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor..."

Yeah, I so need to get a life.
