How did Mrs. Peacock become "Mrs. Peach"? Also, you might want to brace yourself for everyone outside the U.S. who will tell you that it should be Reverend Green, and that "Mr." Green is a distinct and curious American variation.

I usually play as Peacock. Although I adore Eileen Brennan as much as the next person and generally think the whole cast is pitch perfect, no one holds a candle to Madeline Kahn.
Especially because she doesn't like flames, on the side of her face.
I play the fabulous Miss Scarlet, but Madeline Kahn is of course the best part of the movie. Funny story: I was a very good student and in the 6th grade, recommended the teacher show Clue when we studied mysteries for a class project. I was out sick the day they started it and my teacher called me in to lecture me because she showed it to the class without screening it. I could quote it back to front even then, but her horrified lecture made it that much more of a favorite (not to mention my classmates LOVED that she showed it). But seriously - this is an all time classic. I could never date someone who didn't understand the flames quotes on principle.

where was the Ensemble SAG award when this movie happened.
i was so obsessed with this movie in the 4th grade, i actually got my friends at recess to play "Clue" with me. which meant acting out the murder scenes with dialogue and pretending to strangle my best friend (as Yvette) with a jump rope. she just went along with it. but i did get in trouble for that at one point.
I tend to go for Colonel Mustard when I play. My favorite character in the film isn't even playable, unfortunately. Tim Curry makes the Clue world go around.
When i was young 11 ish i staged a murder mystery in my classroom,it went great,i named everyone after the characters and teacher was mrs white,so cool.
Do you think you or anyone would oscar nominate any1 of this cast kahn maybe.
The correct answer is the seriously fabulous Miss Scarlett in her perfectly cut blue dress but Mrs White is tons of fun too.
IMO this is one of those films that, along with Steel Magnolias in '89, is the reason they created the SAG Ensemble award in the mid 90s - to finally honor the work of actors who's collective chemistry and success as a group is undeniable and unequaled. An inspired idea on a basic old-timey actor-troupe level when you really think about it. Every single person, large and small, in this cast shines in their respective role and all gel beautifully within the tone of the film. Truly genre-defining work as well. In theory, the perfect type of work SAG Ensemble was meant to shine a light on but they have since clearly had other intentions for what they use this award for. Still, it's kinda fun thinking of those ensembles that merited special mention like this, before 1995.
Madeline Kahn is, of course, Oscar nod worthy here. Cream of the crop, if there ever was a perfect use for this phrase.
I usually play Miss Scarlet because in the rulebook (at least in my version), she always goes first.
I have a VERY difficult time choosing a favorite from the movie. Everyone has a chance to shine. Definitely not Yvette though. I hated her SO MUCH.
my favorite in the movie is Mrs White (duh) ut I always play Scarlett or when she is not available Professor Plum. But one year for Halloween with a group of friends we all went as Clue and I did Mr Green.
johnny bs -- i love that too but i was SHOCKED by it back in the day because i worshipped The Go-Gos and heard Jane Weidlin was going to be in the movie. I kept waiting for her to appear.

I always played Mrs. Peacock, because she was the only character, if you rolled a six, who could get into a room on her first role (all of the other characters were seven spaces away).
As for the movie, while I adore them all (I've seen this movie at least 100 times), Mrs. White is my favorite. She deserved her third Oscar nomination for that movie, and no one will ever convince me otherwise.
I am loving the Clue love here! Just this week I came across the fact that "The Cook!" was played by M*A*S*H's Lt. Yamato (Kellye Nakahara).
And the ladies easily take best in show here. Brennan, Warren, and of course Kahn are perfect, and are the only pieces I will play when playing Clue :) "1+2+1+1"
Every play the Clue drinking game? Everyone picks a person, weapon and room and drinks when their person's name is said and when their weapon or room are shown.
Best movie-related drinking game ever... if you're into that sort of thing.

Always played Peacock, for the strategic advantage John T lays out, until I saw the movie at 10, and then it was Mrs. White, for obvious reasons. I think Madeline Kahn is watching out for me as I play!
I am always Prof. Plum, just as I am always the dog in Monopoly. Also, Nathaniel, I can't believe that you were Mr. Green for Halloween one year. If you were in Monopoly, that would be the equivalent of being the shoe.
