The Best Tweets of Oscar Night

And if Matthew McConaughey can be his own hero, I can include some of my own tweets, too! But I'll be sure to thank God as well because everything i have comes fro...

I share the tweets primarily because Ellen DeGeneres made history last night with this selfie... which isn't really a selfie because Bradley Cooper took it ...although maybe not because that's a really wide view for a selfie. And there were other versions of this picture suggesting multiple cameras, like the one I tweeted below. a selfie that's not really a selfie that contains multitudes and all of our fantasies and dreams... and Lupita's brother.

FUN TWEETS after the jump. Enjoy them. Retweet them. Be glad we all live in a time when there are so many enjoyable clever people to play with each day on the internet. (It's the silver lining of twitter ruining television watching because who is even looking at the right screen anymore, amirite?)

On Lupita's Win

On "Let it Go"

On the John Travolta  "The One and Only Adele Dazeem" Frozen Debacle

On U2's performance

On Matthew McConaughey's Religious and Masturbatory Acceptance Speech

The Pizza

and let's close out with the pizza. Because pizza is delicious and so is Oscar night, always. Suck it haters.

Haha these are all great. Love Meryl eating the pizza. She knows how to because of Julie & Julia, of course.

Ellen's "official" photo can't really be the photo Bradley took with the cellphone: everyone's eyes are looking in the wrong direction. And with that group, it's impossible to believe that they wouldn't have known how to train their eyes on the lens.

I've seen multiple shots of that scene from different angles. The most heartbreaking of them all is the one from behind. Liza so bravely/desperately/annoyingly/courageously tried to be included (insert whatever adjective best describes the sentiment you wish to project).

She took quite a few hits during the evening (no, I'm not referencing drugs). Regarding the failed attempt to get into the selfie, the great singer/actress maintained a sense of humor, telling the Wall Street Journal that “This picture explains why I never played basketball.”

Though the pizza bit went on a little long during the telecast, no complaints about it are valid because THOSE PICTURES.

I feel bad for Liza. Maybe her best days are behind her, but she's much more talented and a bigger star than any of the cool kids in the photo. (Okay, maybe not Meryl.) She's crazy, but in a fun, fabulous way. In any interview I've seen, she receive jibes with good humor.

Why invite her and then only make her the butt of jokes? Really, the indignity of getting nothing more than a little wave from the audience before listening to Pink sing her mother's signature song.

You just know every stylist and designer in Hollywood saw that pizza and had a mini-stroke.
