That's a pretty wide stance... is she running? Doesn't the whole play take place in a kitchen? The posters already panicking "open it up. open it up"

Liv Ullman is flawless in Bergman movies. I did see her last directorial gig Faithless (2000) and I liked it as an actor's showcase but not more than that.

I wish this were directed by Jane Campion but then she's always the first choice with ladies in bulky dresses out in the elements

Redheads are so hot right now. If Ariel were alive and still had her legs she'd probably compete for Isla Fisher and Amy Adams's parts. But not for Jess's.
I saw a play with Sienna Miller once called After Miss Julie which is just basically Miss Julie for Brits instead of Swedes with some politics. So I've never understood why there's another one. But then I've never seen Miss Julie performed and am no expert on it. And this has Jessica Chastain so level up.
I forgot to say anything about Colin Farrell.

I am sort of fixated on your phrase PERIOD FRIZZ - I'm trying to figure out what medication that would be a side-effect from.
Had no idea this movie was being produced by the HFPA.
I can't help but think she's walking (skipping?) with an imaginary friend the way her arm is draped over a shoulder that isn't there.
Elizabeth: The Golden Age or: How did this get Blanchett nominated over HBC (Sweeney Todd), Jenna Fischer (Walk Hard), Charlize Theron (In the Valley of Elah (not great, and I'm sure there's better perfs to single out (though 07's crop was otherwise sterling really. They easily could have missed The Savages, for example), but it's still better than tossing a major nom at Elizabeth: Full Throttle)) and ESPECIALLY Amy Adams (Enchanted)? (Yes, I know two of those were light comedies, but they were all trying something new and were working with scripts that weren't brain dead and over-filled.)

Whoa. Ever since I first saw this poster I thought she was sitting on a swing, but she's totally NOT. My thoughts on the poster are various incoherent squeals and SO EXCITED murmurs.
Cautiously excited for this. I'm rarely interested in actors directing, but Liv Ullman is one hell of an actor, and I've been in need of a good period piece lately.
@Volvagia It still pains me that Adams didn't get in. If Disney had a clue how to campaign, I feel like it would've been an easy get.

Couple of years ago I saw Juliette Binoche in Miss Julie on stage & it's one of the best production I have ever seen. This is one of my favorite stage role for an actress. In my opinion it's right up there with Blanche Dubois & Lady Macbeth. Very exited about this film!

The French poster is miles better! The American one, withi that pose and frizz, makes Chastain look like the understudy who's rehearsing Margaret Hamilton's role in The Wizard of Oz.

The DP on this film is Mikhael Krichman (shot all of Zvyagintsev's projects), so I suspect this will be significantly more cinematic than Ullmann's prior work.
To me this poster screams live action sequel to Brave. Her taste in dresses has not changed.

I love it how "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" has aged so well; not only do I hear more and more people liking it but the IMDb rating has in fact gone up.

I like the french poster better, anything to see Chastain's cheekbone really.
It is one thing to highlight Golden Globe winner/nominee. But to have the actual statues as boldfaced reminders that they didn't win the Oscars is actually kind of cruel. Also, they sure deleted a lot of words for Morton's statue.
