Oh and I forgot to post this great UK poster for Maps to the Stars.

I love quad posters but we only get the vertical ones here in the US. I'm getting so desperate to see this movie.

In reverse

a) That Tweet is way too awesome. Wow. I choked on my drink.

b) Great poster

c) Pay attention to the Amazon fights. There is going to be a massive shift in the future in how art is consumed (yes, I used that word deliberately) and the fights with Hachette, Warner Bros, and now Disney are extremely fascinating. For those of us that read, watch and listen to as much as possible from as many places as possible, this could hurt.

d) The aversion superhero/comic movies have to half the world was, is and will always be insane.

I guess it's nice to know Julianne has a good shot at Globe/BFCA/BAFTA and some critics prizes/shortlists. Sometimes I forget what fun it's been to have her scattered notices here and there, as The Kids are All Right and A Single Man kept her near the conversation and on the red carpets. I have to remind myself that sometimes that's enough.

(Except that it's not enough, and I'm dying for her to have a full-fledged Oscar run. Even if it means category frauding the hell out if this Cronenberg role.)

Really want Julianne Moore to gain Oscar traction for her role in Map to the Stars... I mean, she's one of the best alive and her last Oscar noms were in 2003 for "The Hours" and "Far from Heaven". But no matter what she seems great in this one (judging by the trailer) so I'll watch it for sure

Nate (can I call you Nate?) - Kristen Stewart tried to change the perceptions of herself two years ago for On The Road, but I guess nobody paid much attention. I thought she fared pretty well in that movie. And come to think of it, she tried to push herself in 2010 as well (The Runaways and Welcome To The Rileys)... Nobody paid much attention to those, either, I guess.

Sony doing a female Spider-Man spin-off: It's Black Cat. Spider-Girl requires a whole new set of actors and, minimum, a 20-year time-skip (that's an insane effort, even for this), Marvel owns the Spider-Man distaffs and Firestar and Silver Sable likely don't fit in with the aesthetic ideas a wife of a Nolan would want to use. Aunt May as The Golden Oldie is flat out (aside from being hyper-goofy, May was only The Golden Oldie in ONE story, and that story was a Fantastic Four crossover).

I just don't understand TMNT doing this well. The current cartoon actually is nowhere near as popular as the original. I feel like Gen X parents are just heading into theaters for their nostalgia and their kids enjoyed it because they, the parents, enjoyed some version of this years ago.

Ulrich- Pattinson also tried in his first go-around with Cronenberg in Cosmopolis. I personally like it, and personally thought Pattinson had some pretty good comedic chops, and know a handful of people who did like it but it barely registered which for a Cronenberg film is pretty shocking. Working out for him, Cronenberg liked him enough to go about another film with him in the ensemble. Hopefully Stewart can have such luck with Assayas or OA's wife Mia Hansen-Love.

I frickin' love Cosmopolis. I now need Cronenberg to direct all of Dellilo's books into movies, no matter how unfilmmable.

Ulrich - i don't go by Nate but thanks for checking.

cmg & arkaan - i like cosmopolis a lot myself. been actually wanting to see it again

hayden - that's a good perspective. as long as you're in the conversation you're part of the season which is half the fun

"It's fine (if it's terrible), it's aimed at kids."

Well, so were (to name just a few) "The Wizard of Oz" "Sounder" "Babe" "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" "Peter Pan" "The Secret Garden" "My Bodyguard" "The Iron Giant" "The Black Stallion" "Mary Poppins" "The Secret of Kells" "Where The Red Fern Grows" "Tuck Everlasting" "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" "ParaNorman" "Coraline" "The Indian In The Cupboard" "A Little Princess" "Ella Enchanted" and "My Life As A Dog"--not to mention the best of Disney, Pixar, Miyazaki, etc.

If you condescend to kids and feed them crap, they grow up liking and expecting crap.
