Podcast: Boyhood & Lucy
The gangs back together! It's a Joe, Nick, Katey & Nathaniel reunion. We rarely get all four of us together anymore but this week we're discussing Luc Besson's Lucy and Richard Linklater's Boyhood, and, super briefly: tree frogs, forever bangs, green lantern, Interior Leather Bar and Guardians of the Galaxy.
You can listen at the bottom of the post or download the conversation on iTunes. Continue the conversation in the comments. We'll continue this particular conversation again tomorrow. We just kept talking (not about these two movies) so there's a bit more to come.

My commute home just got better
Okay, here's my argument as far as GotG goes is this: It's the ONLY majorly well reviewed pop-movie that is ALSO not overly kiddy (The Lego Movie) and is an actual franchise LAUNCHER, not a sequel (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) or a franchise RE-launcher (Godzilla), and ONE of those very well reviewed films kind of HAS to get in this year? (Honestly, though I didn't dislike or hate GotG (I AM emphatically in the near loved it camp, in fact, with Ronan as the ONLY outright stumbling block), I still really wish I could predict Captain America: The Winter Soldier or, maybe, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. But, oop, those are sequels to movies they didn't nominate for Best Picture so there's NO WAY to really justify predicting those happening.)
I know The Dark Knight being snubbed for a Best Pic nod played a bit role in the opening of the category to 10, then 5-10 nominees. But I still can't imagine any superhero movie getting in any time soon.
I had to skip the first 24 minutes because I haven't seen Boyhood yet and I want nothing spoiled. I haven't seen Lucy either, but I don't mind having any of that spoiled. lol So, I listened to only half the podcast but I still had fun, :)
Volvagia, let it go, it's not happening. It's not anywhere near their radar and nobody cares...
Nathaniel, I rarely comment on your podcasts but I always listen them. I decided to comment today just to say that I love listening to the four of you. Your chemistry is enviable! You always crack me up :)
Keep up the good work! And let's hope Katey is back for good, I like what she brings to your group :)
