Red Carpet Lineup XXL: Nicole, Jada, Paz and Kate(s)

Nathaniel recently praised her work in Photograph 51 in London, and the voters at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards agreed with him, for they gave her a Best Actress award to go with her Oscar, Globes and other statuettes.
Nicole wasn't the only movie-related winner: James McAvoy and Imelda Staunton, also won awards for their work in The Ruling Class and Gypsy, respectively. At the event Nicole was simply majestic in an Alexander McQueen design.
...and before you all whine about how Cate wore it better (she did wear a similar McQueen to the Robin Hood premiere at Cannes in 2010), be reminded that...
a) McQueen should be worn by all screen queens
b) Nicole is flawless!
c) Cate was in Robin Hood...
d) most importantly, Cate and Nicole love each other as proved by this image to your left.
Before I lose you to fantasizing about Nicole and Cate in Carol Part Deux, let's move on to our other looks of the week...
In the wise words of Mrs. Smith, who gave one of the year's most delicious supporting turns in Magic Mike XXL, we now will take a look at Jada doing what she does best, which is looking majestic, while making us all feel like inadequate human beings. She took everyone's breath away in a sheer Zuhair Murad gown at a Concussion screening in Los Angeles.
I decided to flank her with Amber Heard (left, in Dolce & Gabbana) and Paz Vega (right, in Vionett) because they both perfected Marlene Dietrich's beloved masculine looks, and kicked major couture derriere in the process. Interestingly enough, and cheekily one might say, Heard wore hers to the LA premiere of The Danish Girl.
Last, but certainly not least, we have Kate and Kate in what might prove to be quite "controversial" looks. Bosworth is a cloudy vision in more gender-bending Erdem, complete with an aggressive tie, and strong black pumps. While Beckinsale stunned in an Alberta Ferretti palazzo gown that might be "too much" if it wasn't so damn perfect.

That's it! Blanchett and Kidman should co-lead a movie where their entire wardrobe is Alexander McQueen directed by auteur Steve McQueen.

Jose - with all of the Star Wars hype going on I'm reminded of Natalie Portman and her handmaidens - Keira Knightley & Rose Byrne. Any chance of that trio ever getting together ?
I really want to see Nic's dress in motion but it's movie star glamor already. I do miss her and L'Wren Scott because they were a great team and L'Wren had some great work.
With Jada in Zuhair Murad, I used to describe Zuhair Murad as "Elie Saab with more creativity" since Elie fell into a stylistic rut for years with putting out variations of the same embellished dresses but it looks as if Zuhair has fallen into that same trap and some of his creations are almost indistinguishable from Elie's work.
But then again, at least Elie has been branching out more a bit recently.
Zuhair Murad is an interesting case. I tend to think ladies look sensational in his designs, and yet this one here screams "Goddess!" in Showgirls (not that I'm complaining). Elie Saab, on the other hand, is a nice, safe choice but then again he did once outfit Jessica Chastain in that dynamite lavender number so...how can you not? How can you not.
It's sad, for many reasons, that L'Wren Scott is no longer with us. I don't know which other stylist Nicole Kidman could turn to considering she was *the* darling of the very, very best.
Verdict: Amber Heard (P.S. did anyone get a load of Johnny Depp at that premiere?!)
I'm afraid I don't remember (!) Blanchett in Robin Hood, which either means a) her role was a cameo, b) she was terrible and I repressed it or c) I repressed most of the whole movie. Was she playing a heroine or a Crystal Skull/Hanna/Cinderella-type villainess?
Cate doesn't wear anything better than Nicole.
Waiting patiently for Nicole and Cate to star in a movie together....an actressexual's wet dream:)
The McQueen dress looks great on Nicole. I also like the Kate and Kate looks. Very fashion forward. Amber Heard is a giant no for me. She often seems drugged out and grimy. Happy Thanksgiving. Great work all year.
