One of the screen's best character actresses is taking over The Film Experience on June 9th. You've seen her in Gangs of New York, Hotel Rwanda, Dancer in the Dark, Birth, Adaptation, An Education, and American Psycho, among others.
She wowed again as the unconventional nun "Sister Harriet" in Steven Soderbergh's Emmy hopeful "The Knick" (which just finished shooting Season 2). Now meet the actress behind the indelible characters.

I would love to hear anything interesting about the making of Dancer in the Dark, one of my favorite movies, specifically when it comes to acting opposite Bjork and being directed by von Trier. What was the communication like with those two artists, both in rehearsals and during the shoot?
I just wanted to say I truly admire Cara Seymour as an actress and I'm always interested to watch a movie whenever I see she is part of the cast. If there was ever an actress who is not living up to her potential due to the lack of imagination of casting directors and the whole politics that practically kills art nowadays, Cara is that actress. All of her creations are interesting and enigmatic to the point I wish I could see a movie about each of her characters. I wish Cara was headlining at least two movies a year!

I love Cara Seymour and still am mad she didn't make the (stupid fucking) SAG's Outstanding Perfomance by a Cast in a Motion Picture list for Hotel Rwanda. How dumb is that?
Anyway, I'd love to hear her thoughts on film acting vs. stage acting, and her favorite experiences and performances herself thus far.

I hadn't quite realized before now what an amazing filmography Cara Seymour has! Adaptation and Birth are two of my absolute favorites, and I also love The Savages. And of course it would be fascinating to hear her talk about the making of Dancer in the Dark and American Psycho.
American Psycho. I have SO MANY questions. lol.
That's AWESOME! Cara Seymour is one of those actors that exudes such an intriguing, fully sketched-out inner life for her characters that I always want to know more about them. Also LOVE The Knick and her in it, although I almost didn't recognize her under that habit!
I feel like I'm not brave enough to ask the questions I'm sure we all want to ask about American Psycho, so I'll just say that maybe my favorite moment in the whole movie is when she storms out of Patrick's apartment after the other "classy" hooker leaves. Such a memorable character moment, and we don't even see her face!
Having worked on so many great films, is there anything you can feel from being on set that gives you confidence the movie will in fact be great?

I'm very impressed, Cara Seymour is a wonderful actress - great in The Knick and so believable in The Education. Great news.
She is so under-rated !!! Her filmography is amazing. even in small roles she stands out and makes the most of them.
Anything she wants to say regarding her experience working with Lars and Björk! She's amazing!
My memory of her in Dancer is her singing the line I've called the police which always gets a laugh when I think about it.
Cara is an incredible actress. I will listen to anything she wants to talk about! Although I am curious about any upcoming projects.
