YES. Glad to see it back!!!
What's the breakdown (as in, how long do you talk about Furious 7 and how long about Age of Ultron)? I haven't seen Furious 7, but would love to hear what you guys say about Age of Ultron (always enjoy listening to you guys talk)... :)
2015 just got better because the podcast is back. Can I recommend you take a page from the Avengers and allow two women be part of the action on a regular basis, with Katie and Anne Marie both joining the regular ranks? I adore the regular four, but five is even better. :)
Yay so happy to have the podcast back! Even if we're missing two of our TFE (Avengers) team, it's always a nice surprise to have ya'll return! :)
When talking to a friend about the Fast & Furious movies (a series I don't watch) he basically said it was a more fun, funny, sexy version of a certain Marvel supergroup but with POC and shiny cars. Seems about right. I'll have to marathon them one day and see what the excitement is about.
Age of Ultron's best thing for me was Elizabeth Olson, I wanted way more of her. Also loved the Thor hammer party scene, wish the rest of that movie felt as lively. Way too quippy for me tho, not everyone can be Hans Solo! And the action never impresses but they just seemed dreadful this time around. Hopefully a new upgrade of the cast and a new pair of directors can bring some magic into it. Still pipe-dreaming about what someone like James Cameron would bring to the table for these iconic characters.
You guys, can we talk about what a fascinating character actress Linda Cardellini has evolved into? Good for her. And I hope this means that Paul Bettany is on the upswing, he deserves better.
Mark -- Linda Cardellini is great in everything (she was such a surprise on Mad Men and nicely evocative of unruly inner life on Bloodlines) and having always loved Paul Bettany this is a huge blessing.
Welcome back to the podcast.
What eurocheese said! Add Katie & Anne Marie to the podcast full time! They can be the Scarlet Witch & Black Widow to the rest of your Avengers team!
Joe's enthusiasm actually made me kinda sorta maybe want to see Age of Ultron. Which, given my almost complete lack of interest in the Marvel universe, speaks volumes to his powers of persuasion.
Woo podcast! Enjoyed all the Avengers and had to tune out the Furious 7 talk (sorry) but hopefully we have another podcast soon? So many fascinating indies out in the U.S. right now, eg Ex Machina and Clouds of Sils Maria. Saw both recently and loved them, especially the former. Have been wanting to see more critical discussion of them, so it'd be delightful to see the TFE team tackle either or both films with characteristic wit and insight.
