The Hairpin on kissing and 'disgusting intimacy'. Interesting article but be warned of really gross photos that may or may not be from an X-Files episode that's name dropped. (I love kissing. I once toyed with starting a series on it with this classic post on Jake Gyllenhaal but good god that was a ton of work.)

Boy Culture 30 minutes (!!!) of unseen outtakes from Madonna's classic "Vogue" video have surfaced. It's so weird to see Madonna at the end of takes all dissatisfied with herself for milliseconds. Don't you miss David Fincher making music videos. He should do that inbetween his films
Playbill casting complete ono the West End production of "Photograph 51" starring Nicole Kidman. Her first time on the UK stage since "The Blue Room." Performances start in just 2 months. me want! me want! donate to the site (see sidebar) so I have funds to go see her. *sniffle*
Showtune to Go...
Feeling oppressed by superheroes of late, I suddenly remembered one of my very favorite songs from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I seriously love this song (Yeah, I went through a Rocky Horror phase one year as a teenager) and strangely YouTube has very little use for it. Is it because of its lack of fame since it was axed from the original cut of the movie? I found one good clip from a performance in Jacksonville Florida with Ross Frontz and Jessica Alexander doing Brad and Janet... good voices!

"Annette, there's this play. Naomi told me she has a bad feeling about this and Amy says only selfish unfit mothers do plays."
"Do it, Nicole."
I just randomly came across the news on Kidman's play the other day and I'm totally getting tickets. Never seen a new play in the West End before despite going to London every few months. Plus the plot's sort of about science history (I'm a scientist) AND it's got Kidman in it. Me want, as well!
Btw, did you ever see The Blue Room ? She's often commented how back in the day she was advised not to do it and then it turned out to be a great success. I love the fact critics called her work in it "theatrical Viagra".
Madonna must be EXTREMELY hard on herself... I watched all 30 minutes of "outtakes" from the Vogue video and each clip I thought was brilliant and flawless, and she seems disappointed in each one for not getting it. lol.
She's a perfectionist, that one! :-)
One of my all-time Madonna videos, I could watch outtakes from it for hours, especially the glamour closeups and the duet. But the lipsyncing is usually slightly off--no wonder with all that dancing and gesture coordination. Niki is all over the place with hers.
Those outtakes are the best thing I've seen this summer and Vogue is the best music video EVER.
Thanks so much for linking my review! Always an honor to be linked here!
I might have shared this with you before (I can't remember), a montage of German film kisses:
