AHS: Hotel Teaser

My name is Manuel and I have a theory:

American Horror Story Marketing > American Horror Story Show

This latest teaser is but a mere 30 seconds but can you imagine the full season of the upcoming Jessica Lange-less American Horror Story season keeping you as enthralled? [More...]

But then, Ryan Murphy has always been better at teasing than satisfying. His newest iteration of the horror anthology series (Hotel) premieres on October 7th and so we got this titillating teaser to whet our appetite. And boy did it! Highlights after the jump...

I mean, there are SO MANY THINGS to love about this blink-and-you'll-miss it glimpse at what lies behind Murphy's newest scary attraction:

Angela Bassett as a dominatrix Dreamgirl*!

Matt Bomer as some sort of dandy Bond villain*!

Sarah Paulson as an 80s hooker*!

*Not actual character descriptions.

These are all definitely great reasons to tune in. And that doesn't even cover Kathy Bates's glasses (and keys?) and Lady Gaga's two gentleman callers: pornstachio'd Cheyenne Jackson and punky Finn Wittrock. And if you just replay the teaser over and over again, you don't even have to worry about the overplotting and overstuffing that usually greets AHS once it hits midseason.

But maybe this time our stay will be better at chez Murphy? Will you be checking into AHS: Hotel this fall?

This "theory" is closer to incontrovertible FACT ;)

Thanks for the hilarious post. I love the AHS actors so much that I will always tune in. I just hope this season does them justice by not forgetting about them 1/2way through and bringing in 10 new characters in the last 6 episodes.

I’m not so sure how I feel about Gaga as the leading lady.

I just hope that Murphy won`t ruin Bassett & Bates character by mediocre plot due to an inability to write like he did before in Coven (Bates) and Freak Show (Bassett)

Let us not forget Miss Sevigny...and gold Jesus on Miss Bassett's leash...and dapper Evan Peters...

I just hope it's scary again. I loved the first two seasons, but it's been underwhelming ever since and I didn't even finish the last one. I'm kind of upset that they're hyping Gaga so much, especially when people like Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates are proven, legitimately great actors and could've easily taken the mantle from Lange.

Feeling a strong dose of "The Shining" here.

Speaking of things American Horror Story Lily Rabe the wonderful Sister Mary Eunice and delightful Misty Day has been cast as Michelle Pfeiffer's (Ruth Madoff) daughter in law in the HBO's The Wizard of Lies.

Looks like a teaser to Beyonce's "Haunted" video.

I'm sure this season will be a hot mess, as per usual, but the show has always been a fascinating hot mess. I'll miss Jessica Lange but I'll be watching anyway.

Those kids like the monster children in "The Brood"

No matter how many great actresses they cast, this shows ALWAYS sucks

I will tune in as usual, only to tune out after a few episodes. I'm sure of it. Lol. I stopped watching Freak Show after like five episodes (maybe four) because it was just too bad. So we'll see. He does have me intrigued with Gaga though... I'm interested.

Jessica Lange is my favorite actress ever but while she was the only reason i watched AHS in the first place, i became addicted to the likes of Paulson, Peters, and then the third season was a dream come true with the adition of Bates and Bassett and now any new season of AHS is unmissable.

But then my favorite person in the show was still Lange and i'm afraid without her everything falls apart, especially if you give the lead to Lady Gaga who really doesn't impress me much. I'll give it a chance anyway.
