Beauty Break: Adele Covers Vanity Fair

Chris here with some diva worship - nothing like detoxing from the spooky excess of Halloween with something truly otherwordly. Before she (likely) earns another heap of grammy nominations for her third album 25, Adele is on the December cover of Vanity Fair.

Per her hilariously glib usual, Adele gives great quote in the interview, off-the-cuff with everything from her post-partem depression to money to finding levity in a tour of "miserable" songs. And the buried gem of the article is her aspiration to play Mama Rose "like when I'm 50."

I mean, with combined powers her voice, chutzpah, and intensity: why not? After all, Adele is a likely future EGOT - an Oscar for Skyfall, 10 Grammys (and counting) and an Emmy nomination already on the books, so Tony could easily be in the cards for her songwriting or this Gypsy pipe dream. In fact, it's a little surprising her sense of humor hasn't yet brought her some comedic bit part or sketch piece - she'd have been a hoot in the string of cameos in last summer's Ab Fab movie!

Take a look at the gorgeousness from the photo spread:

Now that last one definitely sells me on this Mama Rose idea. Can you see Adele in the role in 20 years time or do these photos recall any other Broadway roles she'd fit?

She stole Kate Winslet's red dress from The Dressmaker.

I explode with joy when she said that she wants to be Momma Rose in Gypsy in the future! No question about the singing, but can she pull off the acting? OMG YAS QUEEN
She can even play Gypsy herself in the upcoming Barbra movie for all I care!

Her hair and make-up are always on-point.

Love her. Finally saw her in concert in September and it was so, SO wonderful.

With that said, I still blame her for Sam Smith's Oscar win TBH.

Please don't talk of Him with no name in the same breath as Lady Adele.

let's not forget that Beyoncé gave her first interview in awhile just to praise Adele. she didn't even give Vogue an interview for her September cover lol

She is, in a word, spectacular. Her talent is supernatural, her humility enchanting. And photogenic? YASSSSSS! These photos conjure a timeless appeal very few stars of today can bring.

With as many times as I've heard Hello, that song should be all worn out. But it's still as haunting and spine-tingling as when it first came out.

She already looks like Miss Adelaide to me. No need to wait for Broadway Adele!

The red dress shot is an instant classic

Substance over style for me. Yes, she looks fabulous, but that interview is a cracker. Her views on motherhood in particular really resonated with me.

Didn't Bruno Mars talk some shit about her? That guy is an unoriginal douche who sports a lame haircut. Adele is fucking awesome and also quite humble.
