Chastain Fashiongasm

It's a fashiongasm. Or at least a #swoon, yes? It's Jessica Chastain in Beijing promoting The Huntsman: Winter's War. W Magazine informs that this is a Giles Deacon, a designer also favored by two of our truest fashionistas, Cate & Kerry.

P.S. I understand that the early buzz on this feature is all about Emily Blunt if it's about anything but my body is so ready for Chastain to mesmerize again. When's that going to happen? Come on, Jess! I don't mean to be disrespectful because when she delivers... but perhaps, there's no middle ground with her? She's either underwhelming or ectastic to watch. In short: yours truly is eager for the next Most Violent Zero Help Thirty jawdropping star turn. Where isssss it?

So bitter behind her Oscar loss to Lawrence. 2 nominations feel like non-starters. Hollywood is not making her a priority. She needs to avoid supporting parts even with major auteurs. Female leads or die.

One of these days, if she ever finds herself having to deal with J-Law. There is one group she can call on.... THE BULLET CLUB (Scar-Jo 3:16, Jena Malone, & 5 names TBD).

What's she doing with her career.

I don't think Hollywood knows what to do with her (or at least several casting directors) After The Help, she was poised for many roles, but got offered (and rejected barely) the do nothing roles in Iron Man 3 and Oblivion. She seems to finally be doing a movie for money with H:WW but I think she would rather keep doing the independent films.

Fashiongasm? She can't even strike a pose!

firstly, I dont know why you ever had any hope for a sequel that no one wanted. even with these actresses.
secondly, I thought it was not a secret that she did this movie only for some contract she'd signed with Universal, thanks to crimson peak. so tbh it's not abnormal to see someone who was not even wanting to be there deliver an "underwhelming" performance.

p.s., I think most of the films she did, she was ectastic to watch. even the movies were bad, she was never boring (miss julie, crimson peak, etc.)...maybe only in the Martian, but that's because the movie focused on Matt Damon. she had so little screentime and the character itself didn't really stand out. anyways I understand that she didnt want to do this stupid movie, and I cant wait to see The Zookeeper's Wife.

She was super boring in Eleanor Rigby and just awful in Miss Julie.

Octavia -- i agree she was awful in Miss Julie (such a misfire all around) but thought she was pretty good in Rigby, if not a revelation. In fact it may well be her one middle ground performance for me :)

She's not turning out like we'd hoped.

I thought Jessica Chastain was brilliant in 'The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her.'

I'm not calling it quits on her career just yet, though I think part of her issue is that her persona just isn't in vogue at the moment. The public and industry are all about trashy, vulgar, untalented, ignorant, minimally attractive actresses at the moment (see Lawrence, Jennifer). Chastain is nothing of the sort.

just wait for the Dolan one(though it's going to be a long waiting).

She's very hit-and-miss, and I often think Julliard did nothing for her acting technique (her voice is often pitched too high, which is odd). She's so pretty on camera but sometimes her skill level just isn't there. But 'The Zookeeper's Wife' seems like the ideal match between actress and subject. I have high hopes for that one.
