Nathaniel, I'm really curious why you chose Blonde Venus over her other von Sternberg stuff?

"Hot Voodoo" aside (because honestly WTF was that?!), it's easily my least favourite of the films they did together, and the only one I faintly dislike.

The Scarlet Empress on the other hand was something like the "Citizen Kane" before "Citizen Kane" - frame for frame, it's still just as astonishing and yet no one talks about it anymore and it's [criminally] disappeared from best-of lists.

Goran -- I own only a handful of Dietrich movies on DVD and those were the only two Von Sternbergs I had.
