Which acting Oscar win(s) from the 2010s won't age gracefully, and why? My answer, in case the question is confusing, is Alicia Vikander for "The Danish Girl"... I think people will look back at her career (which I assume will be long and illustrious!) and be like, "Really? That?" -- I already look back at her year in 2015 and say that!

What are the worst casting choices (male and female)
of a movie released in theater in 2015 in your opinion ?
Mine are Kyle Chandler in Carol and Lily James in Cinderella.
For opposite reasons.
They should have chosen someone like Mark Rylance
and not a hunk, a known actor, for the role of the husband.
And i think that Lily doesn't have the beauty
required for the role - the actresses that play her stepsisters are even more
charming and charismatic than the protagonist.
Not mentioning the stepmother. What do you think ?

Are people like Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, and Donald Trump just so evil and insane that they are beyond parody, or are there actors and directors you can think of who could convey their humanity and worldview?

Nathaniel, one day they will certainly do
a biopic (or more of one) of Meryl Streep like they
already have of Marilyn, Grace, Garland, Dandridge
and many others. If they were going to make one
by these days, which actress would be perfect to
play Meryl for you ? Saoirse ? Winslet ? Blanchett ?Poehler ?
Oscars Now Vikander/Larson ? Cotillard ? Lea Seydoux ?
Kirsten Dunst ? Kristen Wigg ? Jennifer Lawrence ?
Grace or Mamie Gummer ? Other one ?
Who would you choose ?

We've talked about great screen actresses finding compelling work on TV -- but which TV actresses are ready for some meaty roles on the silver screen?

They've just announced FEUD, another Ryan Murphy anthology series, with season one focusing on Bette Davis vs Joan Crawford and the making of Baby Jane. With Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon!

So my double-barrelled question is:

What Hollywood feud would you want to see turned into a mini-series next and who would you cast as the feuding principals?

[This question generously assumes we live in a perfect world where Ryan Murphy would somehow do the story justice.]

Tom hooper's Cats: should it be live action with actors dressed as cats like the stage production, animated (stop motion, hand drawn or cgi) or motion captured?

What movie moment made you think for the first time "yeah, i would like to fuck jake gillehal's face"?

Please, answer in gifs

Do you have a favorite movie family, like the tenenbauns or the ambersons?

Which of this families do you think would make a great Tv serie?

'Money Monster' is coming out soon, which pairs up George Clooney and Julia Roberts again. And 'La La Land' later this year will see Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling as co-stars for the third time. Are there any movie pairs with great chemistry you think movie studios should be jumping at the opportunity to cast together again?

Personal choice: Cate Blanchett and Sarah Paulson

I recently saw ELSTREE 1976 and enjoyed the insights into the making of a classic film (STAR WARS (or EPISODE 4) for those who aren't familiar with the documentary). Which leads me to my question........

Which movie production would you like to see a documentary about, interviewing participants and using both rare/unseen and common footage?

You get the final voting results of ONLY ONE Oscars vote. Which one do you pick and why?

Your Choice for actor/actress for Trump/Sanders/H. Clinton Biopic?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterGeorgeT

Since you just covered Death Becomes Her, I was wondering if you have any thoughts on Goldie Hawn coming out of semi-retirement to play Amy Schumer's mother? If you could pie any other elder screen star up with a new rising star who would they be (maybe someone in semi-retirement like Hawn)?

I like George T's question. Game Change, part II.

Jessica Lange as Hillary Clinton?

Dream cast for a hypothetical Almodovar English language film? (i.e., which stars in the current Hollywood scene would you most like to see working with him?)

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterCarlos

Which dark comedy made you laugh the most?

Can we discuss Drop Dead Gorgeous. In spite of having all the right ingredients, it's never quite hit cult (gay) status like I always assumed it would. Why do you think that is?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterJB

Since it's Tony season (yay!). Which current broadway show (play or musical) you would love to see adapted for the big screen? Pick a director.

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterV.

I recently saw "Summertime", which was absolutely gorgeous. It got me to thinking: what's the most purely, aesthetically beautiful movie you've ever seen?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterGuest

From the podcast it sounds like you liked Everybody Wants Some!! quite a lot... Could we get a Nick-like Twitter-sized review (and/or a grade) please? I too was surprised how much I loved it!!

In honor of Mothers Day, can you give us a couple of your choices for memorable movie moms - both good mothers and Joan Crawford-level bad ones? And part two, what are a couple of your owns mom's favorite movies?

If all the songs in the Hamilton original soundtrack were eligible for the Oscars (they will not, I bet Lin-Manuel Miranda is already writing a new song for the eventual film version) but IF, which song (songs) would be nominated? Assuming you have heard the album.

I would put my money on "It´s Quiet Uptown" and "Wait For It" but "My Shot" is the one people really can't stop talking about.

Kenneth Branagh is on board as both the star (Poirot, no less) and the director of Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient Express. Your thoughts on Branagh and picks for the all star cast? Ingrid Bergman's near-cameo yielded an Oscar despite the role being comparatively a less showy one. Can we expect another Oscar winning performance this time around?

Top 3 (or more) films you exited by at this year Cannes Film Festival?

What do you think are the best Oscar wins for Editing so far this century, and why? I wanted to ask you to rank the 16 from this century but wasn't sure if you'd reject that one. I feel like some of the editing wins have been brilliant, and some have been terrible.

Who would you cast in the adaptation of The Goldfinch?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterTom Ford

Hey Nat!

I was just wondering, what other feuds would you like Ryan Murphy to cover in his new series on FX?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterBhuray

I can't remember if you did this already, but who are the most talented sons and daughters of famous and talented actors? Who are the least talented, but still seem to get work?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterJono

This relates to a question above, but re: Lange and Sarandon playing Crawford and Davis, does this play into 1) stereotypes of older women as crones, and 2) there are few good parts for older actresses?

May 6, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterAnne Boils

It was just announced that Tom Hooper is attached to direct a movie version of Cats (a choice that I'm sure you won't find very pleasing), and it got me to thinking, given your love of musicals and your very strict standards around them, what film director who has never directed a musical do you think should direct a musical, and which one do you think they should do?

I second Carlos' question about the Dram Cast for an English Almodovar film.
