Beauty Break: Cotillard & Pitt in 'Allied'
Manuel here. Have you guys seen the sweeping, swoon-worthy teaser trailer for Robert Zemeckis' Allied? If nothing else, it shows us that Zemeckis understands that Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt are timeless movie stars whose faces deserve all the beautiful costumes and close-ups they get. The entire trailer is giving me Casablanca vibes even if I'm still unsure what the hell is going on other than these two look like they walked out of a 1940s war film.
Rather than do a regular YNMS for the trailer, I wanted to leave you with 8 moments from the teaser that made me gay gasp...
Cotillard in period garb will never get old. And that red lipstick? Divine...
He's not quite Benjamin Buttoning (there's no denying Brad's aging) but boy does he still look dashing.
Depp, DiCaprio, Fassbender, Schoenaerts... and now Pitt? That's quite the leading man roster Cotillard is lining up.
Can we begin the Costume Design FYC campaign for Allied right here, right now?
I too would be that anxious if anyone were threatening my beautiful, Oscar winning wife. (Talking here about Cotillard, obviously.)
But seriously, why does distress look so good on Brad?
This is already my favorite shot of the film trailer. And, of course then there's this little piece of the teaser that I had to show you in motion:
That's some Mr. and Mrs. Smith action right there.
You can take a look at the full trailer below and tell me whether you think Zemeckis' latest has you excited to see what this pair can do on screen.
And one final question: do we think Allied is Zemeckis' chance for an Oscar comeback? Never underestimate the allure of WWII, though, perhaps given Brad's latest foray into that genre (see: Fury), perhaps nothing is that certain anymore.

Cotillard. (Sigh) What a woman!!
Cotillard is one of my top 3 favorite actress Hollywood has not used her to the fullest... she has been great in the foreign movies.. Hope this one emerges a victory for her.
It may not have been Hollywood's doing, but Cotillard's had (and continues to have) one of the most interesting post-Oscar careers I can think of.
Marion and Brad i'm there.
I still think Pitt is one of the last Great Movie Stars and is a far better actor than given credit for
Great leads, and Zemeckis is a highly skilled director, who I'm glad to see is more consistently working in live action again (though his last film didn't attract my interest).
Agree, Mark
These two look so hot together
Can't wait for this but can we get an Oscar caliber project starring Angelina and Marion? Marion could act circles around Jolie, I know, but when Jolie is on she is exquisite. Maybe Marion can raise her to the occasion

He is so inconsistent. That is his problem; I think most people recognize that he can be brilliant but it is rare when he is.
