I believe I will hate The Greatest Showman because of the excessive use of autotune, Disney-esque broadway music and Zac Efron. It will be nominated for two Oscars and six Razzies.

I predict that I will enjoy The Greatest Showman because I want too. It will be nominated for more Golden Globes than Oscars..

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterArkaan

I predict that I will not watch The Greatest Showman because I have no interest. It will be nominated for a shitload of Golden Globes but will end up not living up to the hype despite its visuals and costumes.

The songs in the trailer are shit.

I predict that I will roll my eyes at "The Greatest Showman" because it of the incessantly "inspirational" tone and the ill-advised, unmotivated anachronisms. It will be nominated for an obligatory "Comedy/Musical" Golden Globe.

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterDave S.

I really am baffled by the songs we've heard so far. I understand that musicals don't need to all have the same style, and that classical Broadway songwriting is itself built around arbitrary conventions and tradition. But why contemporary pop-rock for this particular story and setting? Did someone see aerial circus artists and start free associating until they landed on "like something Pink would sing, but worse"?

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterDave S.

I say support movie musicals until we see them and we know they suck.

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterbrookesboy

I predict that I will see The Greatest Showman because it seems like a great holiday movie, even though it may end up being shit. It will be nominated for 3-4 Golden Globe awards but not for Oscar, except maybe costume design or production design.

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAaron

I believe I will see The Greatest Showman because it's a musical starring Hugh Jackman - I'm there no matter what. It will be nominated for 7 Oscars - Best Picture, Production Design, Make-Up, Costume, Original Song, Original Score and Best Actor :)

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJoanne

I will root for The Greatest Showman at least make a decent box office because it will get savaged by the critics. It will be nominated for best actor musical/comedy for Hugh Jackman at the Golden Globes and....that's it.

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJack

I predict that I will demand better from Hollywood that The Greatest Showman because I'm not ok with revisionist history that ignores shit people for the sake of entertainment. It will be nominated for a few design Oscars and Hugh Jackman.

November 14, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSteve_Man

I predict that I will skip The Greatest Showman because the reviews will be brutal. It will be nominated for one tech Oscar an original song Oscar and three Globes.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterDan O

I predict that I will love The Greatest Showman because I'm in dire need of a feel good movie free of cynicism because I already get enough of that on a day to day basis. I predict it will be nominated for Actor, Song, Costumes, and Production Design at the Oscars (hoping for more).

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBrian

Brian - "Wonderstruck" and "Lady Bird" should suit your fancy, then.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJonathan

I predict that I will like The Greatest Showman because I enjoy a guilty pleasure. It will be nominated for a few GG and zero Oscars.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJohn

I predict I will tolerate The Greatest Showman because I will wait until it comes out on DVD to watch so I can fastforward through songs. It will be nominated for Best Actor since there are 4 open slots and Best Supporting Actress if Michelle Williams plays the overdue card correctly.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterTom

I predict that I will hate The Greatest Showman because, my God, have you SEEN that trailer?! It will be nominated for two basic Oscars and hopefully lose them both.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterMarc

I predict that I will like The Greatest Showman because it's it is a musical afterall in spite of how much it will make me cringe. It will be nominated for Original Song.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterV.

I predict that I will be sad about The Greatest Showman because I already work with a bunch of clowns and don't want to be confronted with them onscreen, and I wish someone would find something decent for Hugh Jackman because he seems lovely.

I can't complete the rest of the assignment. Sad.

I predict that I will have mixed feelings about it, since I`m not a huge fan of Musicals ( the only two that I really liked are Moulin Rouge and Chicago, haven`t even seen Beauty and the Beast yet, and have no plans to and thought La La Land was just ok, but I`m holding a grudge against Emma Stone for robbing Isabelle Huppert`s Oscar ,and I can`t stand Zac Efron (eyecandy for sure, but hey dude, what about starting showing some serious acting chops, when The Rock is better than you in a movie , time to start looking for a new agent. ), on the other hand I`ll see it for Hugh Jackman & Michelle Williams cause they are always fascinating and maybe they can be redeemed for Deception ( remember back in 2008 when they made this slick , terrible movie with Ewan McGregor ? Great looking people , stupid film ). It will be nominated for a shitload of GGs but it will be a hit (hard) or miss ( miserably) with the Academy, rooting for HG showing up as Best Actor , though.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterEder Arcas

I predict that I will dislike The Greatest Showman because I’m not wild about Hugh Jackman as an actor or singer. It will be nominated for four Golden Globes and three Oscars (Costume, Production Design, and Song).

The trailer looks awesome.
I hope it won't disappoint me at all..

This is like the fifth post on The Greatest Showman this fall. How about a post on Molly's Game for a change?

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSuzanne

It's not even on Fox's FYC awards page. I suspect the Globes will hand it a nom or two and that's about how far it goes.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAndrew Carden

I predict that I will stan The Greatest Showman because I'm musical trash.

It will be nominated for Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSam

Jonathan - I'm excited to see both of those as well, but I'm also looking for some escapism that is provided by musicals.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBrian

I predict I will enjoy "The Greatest Showman" because I do want some Movie Magic. I think it will have mostly technical nominations, but will get one in for Hunky Hugh in Best Actor, which will futher encourage him to get to work on "The Boy From Oz".

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterforever1267

I predict that I will not watch The Greatest Showman because it looks horrid. It will be nominated for several Razzies

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered Commentereduardo

I predict that I will hate The Greatest Showman because it looks like shit and the music is awful. It will be nominated for many Razzies.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJim

I believe if Hackman will have an oscar nomination next year, it will be for Logan. I have no expectations for The Greatest Showman but I really wish Michelle Williams to be the MVP.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAna

I predict that I will see The Greatest Showman because its a musical and I like the cast. It will be nominated for at least 2 Golden Globes (Best Pic - Comedy/Musical & Best Actor - Comedy & Musical) and maybe an Oscar nom for a song.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterthefilmjunkie

I predict that I'll be saying "I told you so" to a lot of people about "The Greatest Showman" because it's shaping up as a cinematic bellyflop of historic proportions. It will be nominated for some Golden Globes because that's the way they roll. And the picture might squeeze out an eye-roll inducing best song nomination at the Oscars. But the Razzies are where it's going to truly dominate.

November 15, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterKen

I predict that I will not watch The Greatest Showman because Pasek and Paul are terrible songwriters and it looks ugly. It will be nominated for Best Song Oscars anyway.

November 16, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAR

I predict that I will one day DVR The Greatest Showman because of Zac Efron's ass (see photo above). It will be nominated for my pants.

November 16, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJJ

I predict that I will get bored while watching The Greatest Showman because it seems too cheesy and I'm tired of the "being different is good" message specially when it is expressed in such a "commercial" way.
It will be nominated for 3 Golden Globes (Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical and Best Original Song) and for 1 Oscar (Best Costume Design)

November 16, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterEd

Oh boy, this looks terrible. I hope I am wrong.

November 17, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterMichael R

I predict that I will run not walk to The Greatest Showman because I love musicals and cheer that they seem to be making a comeback plus Hugh Jackman can do anything and be great in it. It will be nominated for a Golden Globe, SAG ensemble, and several if not the top Oscars.

November 17, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJamie

I predict that I will I will see The Greatest Showman several times because I like Hugh and am looking forward to seeing him sing and dance in a movie. I've also read two biographies of PT Barnum and, while various aspects of his life are indeed problematic, I think he's being disproportionately demonized by people applying today's sensibilities to 19th-century society. Barnum made it acceptable and normal for working-class people to spend money on entertainment. Imagine TODAY'S society without that. It will be nominated for music and costume awards.

November 17, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSueFB

I predict that I will not see The Greatest Showman because Zendeya. It will be nominated for a smattering of Golden Globes because HFPA are cray.

November 17, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterErnie

I predict that I will hate The Greatest Showman because Pasek and Paul lyrics are basic as fudge, the musical equivalent of a terrible poem written by a middle schooler who strings together whatever words he can think of that rhyme. It will be nominated for Best Original Song regardless.
