Oprah Brings the HBO Actressing for "Henrietta Lacks"

If you thought this week's debut of HBO's Big Little Lies was our sole oasis for actresses acting on the channel, they'll be following its seven episodes with another treat: the adaptation of nonfiction bestseller The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. In fact, it has its own big little trifecta: a major role for the acting-shy Oprah, a dramatic role for TFE favorite Rose Byrne, and Renée Elise Goldsberry's follow-up to her Tony-winning Hamilton run.
Directed by theatre genius George C. Wolfe, Lacks's story is one of family, race, and class, providing a human backdrop for for how her cancer provided important discoveries on how the disease is treated. Come Emmy time, HBO is seeking full actress prize domination with this year's slate - but do we think this could get Oprah the acting honors that often eluded her? From the looks of the first trailer, she could be some major competition:

And that's just the start of it. It's like the Best Actress Oscar of 2016 all over again.
I hope Kidman gets double noms in lead for Big Little Lies and supporting for Top of the lake part 2 (a.k.a. China girl).
Oprah's celebrity often overshadows her gifts as an actress,Beloved is my favourite performance by her,very underrated.
I have a feeling Kidman will go supporting for Big Little Lies.

Seems to me like 2017 is the year the ladies of Cinema take over the domain of the ladies of TV! I can't wait for the all the drama.

Carlos, there could easily be a way for Kidman to get four nominations at the Golden Globes. Lead and support for film and lead and support for TV. It won't happen, but just imagine.
I look forward to Henrietta Lacks...the book is a brilliant read, by the way! You won't be able to put it down!
