Tom Hanks To Be "A Man Called Ove"

In 2015, Sweden selected Hannes Holm's A Man Called Ove as their submission for the Academy's Foreign Language Film race. The selection payed off, as the country earned their 15th nomination in the category. Now, Tom Hanks and his production company Playtone have acquired the rights to develop an English version of the film.
Ove is based on Frederik Backman's namesake novel about Ove, a grumpy curmudgeon who, after losing his wife, decides to commit suicide. His attempts are comedically salvaged by silly interactions with charming neighbors that help him reconsider his outlook on life. Hanks will star as Ove and his wife, Rita Wilson, has joined as a producer.
For those of you keeping track, this marks the second film from the 2016 Foreign Language Film race to score an English remake. The first was Germany's Toni Erdmann, whose remake will star Jack Nickolson and Kristen Wiig with a likely script from Girls's creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.
Who are we suspecting is next? Iran's The Salesman? Denmark's Land of Mine? None of the above: Hollywood please just learn how to read subtitles and let a good thing be?? Share your thoughts!

Would appreciate a Land of Mine remake/re-imagining just to have another opportunity to see a cast full of attractive young and mature men/boys frolicking sadly on the beaches.
I'm generally not a fan of Anglicising modern foreign classics, but this role does seem tailor-made for Hanks.
There's an error in the post saying 2015 at the beginning instead of 2016.
This is better idea than remaking a movie that can't get any better, like Toni Erdmann. In this case, there's a great chance the Hanks version to be the better one.
A MAN CALLED OVE was the worst movie nominated this year. Worse than SUICIDE SQUAD by a healthy margin.

The Academy is very careful when it comes to give a third statue in the acting categories. I always thought voters didn't make Hanks a lot of times pass to the nomination field, since he'd be a threat and a lot of people would vote for him and would win (and he'd get nominated again and surpass three). So the best way to prevent a win is easily with a snub.
