Anyone remember that John Sayles movie Casa de Los Babys. It popped into my head for no reason whatosever today. What a cast that had. So many actresses actressing all over the screen: Harden, Gyllenhaal, Hannah, Moreno, Taylor, Steenburgen, and more.

Saw it in theatres and loved it. Marcia had a strong 2003, right?
I saw it in the theaters 15 years ago. I thought it was an underrated film with an incredible ensemble as Marcia Gay Harden brought a lot of laughs into how much of a bitch she was in the film. Her character never speaks a word of Spanish and refuses to but when she's not on camera except from the Behind the Scenes crew. She was talking in Espanol fluently and was someone the Mexicans loved working with even though they really hated her character.
I LOLed when I found out it was a drama after watching the trailer. I read IMDB plot and assumed it was a comedy: "Six American women who planned on travelling to South America to adopt babies are forced, by law, to live there."
I miss Lili Taylor.
Even with an Oscar to her name, is anyone more underappreciated than Marica Gay Harden?

She single handedly ruined Six Feet Under. Worse character worse character arc. Derailed the whole operation.
thevoid99 - I recall that around this time, she and George Clooney were voted the nicest actress and actor in Hollywood by crew members.
John Sayles doesn't make many films anymore, but he was one of my favorite directors for a long while.
@Suzanne-I never knew that. That is awesome. I wish John Sayles would make more films. I guess taking re-write gigs hasn't helped him financially.
I love both Lili Taylor and Six Feet Under and agree that arc was so terrible.
