We Like the Suits, Mr. Bond

by Murtada Elfadl

My favorite thing about Daniel Craig’s reign as James Bond that started with Casino Royale (2006) are his tight tight suits. They are just tight enough to allow movement yet showcase his trim buff body as the slinky spy from the British Isles. Behold

And let’s see him in action...

Alas in the newly released publicity posters for Bond’s next outing No Time To Die the tight suits are conspicuously absent. Craig looks good in a sweater and work pants. Perhaps he took his cue from his Knives Out co-star Chris Evans and adopted sweaters as the de-rigueur outfit.

Also looking good - despite the many guns - are Ana De Armas, Lashana Lynch and returning again from Spectre Lea Seydoux.

The suits are back in the just released trailer.

What do you think of the trailer? Are you excited for Craig's supposed last outing as Bond?

He looks like a garden gnome. Finally time for the much awaited Idris Elba Bond.

The worst ever Bond and the worrt run of Bond films. They are not much fun anymore,so po faced and self satisfied.

No charm, no sex appeal, no class, no charisma, ugly. I never understood his choice as Bond. He makes George Lazenby look like Sean Connery.

It's not a joke. I'd like to see a fat guy playing 007.

Looks fun. And more lively than Spectre.

Yes I am. I'm taking my mom to see this. My dad was a big Bond fan and it's a shame he's not here to see this so I want me and my mom to see this for him.

It’s time for a female Bond!

NOT ME. Stop using my nick.

Cosigning the Craig thirst. Whether playing rough trade in Love Is the Devil or donning a Foghorn Leghorn accent in Knives Out, the man does it for me.

I’ve always thought Craig’s Keira Knightley pout was odd. I’ve grown less interested in the Bond films.

Although I will be fine with Craig leaving, the one I really want to leave is Ralph Fiennes as M. Judi Dench was a million times better and made the story dynamics more lively. With Fiennes, it’s like an Old Boys’ Club, a smaller and less interesting world.

And so many great actresses could play M.
Emma Thompson, Olivia Colman, Helen Mirren, Harriet Walter, Helen McCrory.

I hope all of my fellow Craigheads have seen THE MOTHER.

So Rami Malek went from playing Freddie Mercury to Phantom of the Opera? Maybe he will do his own singing behind that mask.

I wonder how much they had to pay Craig to come back. He seemed to lose interest with each minute. If NTTD is a slog for him, it will be a slog for us too.

thevoid99: That's a touching comment. I hope you and your Mum enjoy seeing it together.

adri: ooh, Harriet Walter as M. Nice idea!

JJ: I have. He is excellent in it - and Anne Reid is, I think, flawless.
