"The Rise of Skywalker" Teases

The first teaser for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is upon us. Though it promises the "end" of a saga, we already know that the Star Wars universe is ever-expanding with prequel and sidebar movies, and soon streaming scripted series. Nevertheless JJ Abrams second Star Wars film (after The Force Awakens) does intend to be, at least for now, the conclusion of the main Star Wars storyline, the one involving clone wars, Jedi massacres, various Skywalkers and Solos, the Rebel Alliance and Death Stars, the threats of Darths (multiple) and the evil genius of Emperor Palpatine (UH-OH but he died in Return of the Jedi... Why is Ian McDiarmid doing that unforgettable cackling of his at the end of this teaser?!?)

We'll save a proper Yes No Maybe So for a full trailer but does this teaser whet your appetite for more or are you all franchised out and feeling nothing anymore?

All franchised out and I haven't seen the last seven movies.

I'm on board. Just as long as they take a break with the franchise for the next few years as Solo was just OK.

I say yes to Oscar Isaac’s tight pants.

Hoping for the best with JJ. Movies are feeling over, except good ones at tiny theaters. I don't know anymore what is dissimilar content. Please start a new good series idea with Meryl Streep - The Nix with Bradley Cooper and her - so the world can go on.

Interesting trailer with very definite "North By NorthWest" visual cues. The influence of that classic film lives on. Rey makes me smile, seeing a female hero is such a good feeling. I'm a casual fan of Star Wars, and even I'm interested.

I love Rey.
I especially love that she’s “Rey from nowhere”.

I like the recognition that heroes can be anybody from anywhere, and not necessarily of a specific “lineage”. Although it looks like that message is going to be submerged here in a Skywalker family story.

I was incredibly honest with myself the other day; the Star Wars franchise really only has two great films and the rest are cool but nothing I really care for that much. I dont mind watching the new films later on, its really just a nostalgia fest. Sigh.

Jono- YES!!! Hoping now that JJ has finished with Star Wars he can go back immediately to The Nix with Streep and begin casting that male lead!
As for the trailer I feel like now we will get all the answers and Last Jedi was just a very bad detour

I hope it's better than the last horrible chapter that had me rooting for the villain to kill everyone well except for Pepe Dameron

weird to say, but I’m hopeful now that JJ is back in the directing chair. He kicked off this new version with aplomb in 2015 with The Force Awakens bringing a fresh new cast (great intro for Rey and Finn) that was exciting at the time.

My excitement has diminished. No star wars film since then (all three of ‘em) come close to fulfilling the promise of the first. Hopefully JJ can at least give the cast their two C’s back (charisma + chemistry).

It’s a good teaser but we didn’t need the Palpatine spoiler.

Star Wars is the one franchise I'm not out. Even if Solo made me crazy. On board for this.
