New Yorker  “movies I can’t watch anymore because my climate anxiety is too real”

Filmmaker
Laura Dern will get a tribute at the Gotham Awards on December 2nd. Your move Jennifer Lopez

Coming Soon
- Because Warner Bros can't help themselves with Clint Eastwood flicks, The Ballad of Richard Jewell is joining the already crowded December calendar of film releases. Eastwood’s last Oscar-smash was American Sniper (2014) though the past three pictures (Sully, 15:17 to Paris, The Mule) have not interested Oscar much at all.

After the jump Kristen Chenoweth, Spider-Man, Joker and more…

MNPP Beefy beauty Matthias Schoenaerts and some movies he loves. We already knew from his filmography that he has excellent taste but here’s more proof.

Playbill
Ryan Murphy’s second Netflix series (after The Politician which debuted today) is Hollywood. Broadway’s Jeremy Pope will star and the co-stars are already a starry lot.

Pajiba
Spider-Man is staying in the MCU after all despite the Sony/Marvel breakup. But just for one more MCU film and the Far From Home sequel (which will probably be directed by Jon Watts again.

THR
- Sony is still desperate for more Spider-Man related titles to the point that they’re even developing something on Madame Web, a blind old paralyzed clairvoyant in the comics. One assume they’ll make her young and hot rather than letting an older actress get a headlining superfilm gig.

The Broadway Blog
on Kristen Chenoweth’s new album.

ABC News
- mass shooting threat regarding Joker movie.

THR
On Becoming a God in Central Florida renewed for season 2. Go Kiki!

/Film
- what if Disney animation  had shuttered when they acquired Pixar?

Playbill
- wonderful comic actress Julie Halston reminisces about Gypsy and You Can’t Take It With You on Broadway.

The tea on The Mule was that Eastwood himself didn't want to interfere with AISB's campaign for Cooper. Everyone hold hands for a potential 4th nod for Bates. Supporting Actress is super lame this year if the best we're getting is Dern versus Lopez.

OK, happy to know that Spider-Man will stay in the MCU for at least one more film so that there's more time for Sony and Disney to finally create a new deal for both of them to benefit.

I guess you haven’t heard that Jennifer Lopez is doing the Super Bowl halftime show. That’s spiking the ball in Derns face if I do say so lol
