Some Oscar Night Related Tweets

We were soooo sick yesterday -- WORTH IT TO BE FULLY VACCINATED! -- so we're just catching up now. But if you're not on twitter we wouldn't want you to miss these bon mots. Enjoy.

Apparently Olivia Colman was supposed to do the speech for him but Joaquin Phoenix didn't realize or some such. Now we feel doubly cheated...

People think that Youn Yuh-jung was fawning over Brad Pitt but she basically just dragged him in front of the whole world lol. What kind of producer (executive but still) never showed up to the set. She also mentioned that she hoped he and the Plan B company pays her better next time.

I was there for the final win. Oh, they meant actors in the building.

This ceremony was so boring that it couldn't even make fun memes :(

The fact that we were deprived a Colman speech is crushing.

Couldn't make fun memes? Glenn Close not enough for you?

Would someone clear up to me how Florian Zeller had his Oscar trophy abroad? Doesn't this indicate that he already knew he won?

Glenn Close was hilarious! But for a whole ceremony, it's just not enough.

It was interesting, and I liked the intimate setting, however I would rather not see it done like this again. We finally learned what it would be like if the winners were allowed to speak and not played off. And I learned that I prefer shorter, wittier speeches.
And ironically they failed to let Olivia Colman speak and she's always fabulous.

Katey Rich speaks for me when she tweeted:
"I want next year’s Oscars to be gigantic, and I want them to start with this as a model"
The model being Molly Shannon singing "Husavik" in Iceland with choir and fireworks.

I was thinking that about wearing gold...oh no, don't jinx yourselves! And lo and behold...

I don't think Youn Yuh-jung was fawning or dragging Brad Pitt. She was just teasing him, and being fabulous doing it.

Lol at the Annie Wu tweet.

Glenn Close, Rita Moreno, and Youn Yuh-jung for Bad Grandmas? Add Pam Grier to that equation and then there's something we can talk about as I would totally like to see that.

Glenn saved the night singlehandedly.
Who the hell wants to hear Colman laugh-talking again? LMFAO

The show was horrible and unfunny.

I was devastated that Carey Mulligan didn't win but that was mitigated by Anthony Hopkins winning. He was purely genius in The Father. It would have been too much to hope for Riz to also win.

Giuliana Rancid was horrible as ever in the E! preshow, but it was Lil Rel Howery who singlehandedly ruined anything the show tried to do.

Right when people wanted the show to end, the producers force a "funny but staged" bit that involved a little too much of a continued bromance Lil Rel Howery was trying to force with Daniel Kaluuya. No. Thank. You.
