That last one about editors voting for acting awards reminds me of when I first heard that Denzel Washington apparently performs each take differently so the editor can decide what works best later. I initially thought that was kind of like cheating, but the more I learned about editing, the more I’ve come around to thinking Denzel is doing it right. There’s nothing worse for an editor than an actor who insists on performing every take exactly the same way.
