Have you been following all the Olivia Wilde drama? The press tour for Don't Worry Darling has been so dramatic that the forthcoming film itself might become a mere footnote. The stars have been been in the news constantly between Olivia Wilde getting papers served while onstage at CinemaCon this past spring, to Harry Styles coy refusal to admit that he has a 'public relationship' to Olivia Wilde (presumably to protect those pretensions of queerness for a heterosexual life?), to rumors and then confirmation that Florence Pugh broke up with Zach Braff, to Olivia Wilde recently claiming she fired Shia Labeouf from the movie for Florence Pugh's safety. And now Labeouf counter-claiming that he quit by sharing texts and emails to show that Wilde tried to convince him to stay. What a f**king mess it's all been!

This Shia thing will be a reminder to Olivia Wilde that not commenting is a good policy. If that is not possible, keeping responses vague and not burnishing your stories are also good.
Can the DWD press tour get any messier,I hope the film is great though.
Honestly, Wilde seems like a piece of work high on her own supply…the Shia thing is inexcusable, I can’t imagine throwing a coworker under the bus like that reputationally, especially if it’s patently not true? It’s all been…revealing.
Shia might be a jerk in real life but he brought the receipts here. The fact that Olivia acted as if she fired Shia to protect Florence and this whole thing blew up just made her look like the biggest liar. There have been talks of Florence distancing herself from this movie and now we know why.
When she was served papers at comic con, I got suspicion that she made it difficult to be served because otherwise I don't get why Jason will do that; it will make him look bad. However with Olivia's interview about leaving him etc and this whole thing came out, I guess Jason just let her self destruct. It's too bad but really, sometimes it's better to say anything or be the bigger person.
I'm loving the drama on DWD and think that, by not saying anything, Florence Pugh will leave this whole situation the most unscathed.
Man, I'm not liking any of this shit that is going on. Yes, Olivia Wilde just made herself look bad but Shia is still a fucking asshole. I really hope Florence Pugh stays away from all of this. She doesn't need this. Just work on developing Black Widow & Hawkeye for her and Hailee Steinfeld.
I like Barbie Ferraira and I'm sad she's leaving. I hope she gets some good work as I did like her appearance in Nope. I heard the new Britney/Elton song and... I like it. I was never a big Britney fan back in her prime years as I was just a real snobbish rocker at the time. Now I really like a lot of that stuff. "Toxic" and "Slave 4 You" I think are her crowning achievements.
Honestly, Don’t Worry Darling was something I was intrigued by when I heard about it, but the trailer smelled kinda rotten. We all know this is basically the same story as Stepford Wives, so it’s gotta feel really innovative in its approach to feel fresh and necessary … but it looks to me like it’s trying way too hard on that front. Seemed like it was lacking fun, and an authentic voice and was …yeah… try-hard. Wound up seeming a tad pretentious and stale to me. I know this is saying a lot based on a trailer, but it made me roll my eyes in apathy each time I’ve seen it before a film in the theater.
Anywho, I doubt the movie is that good, so maybe they’re drumming up press to create some sort of word of mouth (“any / all press is good press,” etc) but it’s messy for something that don’t even seem worth all that trouble.
The DWD press tour is a disappointing mess. After Booksmart, I was excited to see what Wilde would direct. And now, the excessive non-movie talk/noise has just ruined it for me. Let's just move on to her Marvel movie, I guess.
The whole thing is giving me "Eyes Wide Shut" vibes. That movie sealed the end of the Cruise/Kidman ' relationship. But not before they turned in amazing performances in an underrated film. "Don't Worry" ended two relationshipships. Even if the quality isn't there, it's destined to be a camp classic for the ages, certainly memorable for all involved and those who find this behind the scenes stuff catnip for the senses.
