First & Last 036 - A Star Ascends...

Can you guess the movie from its first and last shot?

The answer is after the jump when you scroll down...

No, it's not The Revenant, people. But who can blame you if you guessed that given the natural light in the forest and a handsome legendary movie star attacked by a bear.

No, this one is  Legends of the Fall (1994) released just one month after Interview with the Vampire, together they made winter 1994/1995 THE moment when Brad Pitt ascended to the A list (from which he'd never depart) after lots of buzz following his breakout in Thelma & Louise (1991). Brad Pitt, and posters, and magazine covers, and t-shirts of Brad Pitt, where EVERYWHERE that season.

Legends of The Fall is currently streaming on Netflix.

I've never seen Legend of the Fall, but that seems like a CRAZY shot to end a mainstream Hollywood movie on.

I saw this movie in theater and laughed out loud at that ending.

Is it weird or appropriate that I guessed Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford? (I haven't seen either movie.)

That was when Brad Pitt was really HATED by a lot of people. I think Fight Club was the film that changed everything for him from this heartthrob to cool-ass actor who is also funny as fuck.

thevoid99 - you may be right, but if I were asked, i'd probably go for the slightly earlier 12 MONKEYS as that point
