Happy Valentines Day whether or not you're feeling it!

Happy Valentines Day, whether or not you're feeling the love! Sometimes it's hard to tell, right? The image above, from House of Flying Daggers (2004) is perfectly non-committal about romance which seems appropriate for this divisive holiday.

One thing we're always in the mood for is screen kisses, though. Our choices for "Best Kiss" from 2022 aren't ready but in the meantime, do share your favourite recent screen kisses in the comments.

Considering "Great Freedom" is mentioned in the Team Experience Awards, my vote is for the "underground" kiss of that film

I could bet will be nominated in the Film Bitch awards (give me some sign to really bet)

This screen kiss misses the deadline by a few weeks. Yet, nothing else comes close.

In The Last of Us, survivalist Bill sits at his mother’s beautiful antique piano and movingly sings the tender ballad Long, Long Time. The lunch guest Frank touches Bill’s shoulder and inquires about the girl. Bill softly confesses there is no girl. Frank places a hand on Bill’s tightly wound shoulder and replies he knows. He bends down and gently kisses Bill on the mouth. Bill rises and they kiss again. A wet tear stains Frank’s face.

Magic.

I haven’t yet seen The Last Of Us, and the question makes me realize it’s been a while since I’ve seen a screen relationship where I believed a deep and abiding romantic love (probably since Joe and Nicky in “The Old Guard”.

Other love, yes. This week I saw Yeon Sang-ho’s “Jung_E”, where the mother and daughter share a cheek rub to show their love. I thought the movie was going to be a Korean sci-fi robot movie that might be too violent for me. I didn’t realize it was going to be too heart wrenching.

I read a review (after) that said “And you thought that Train to Busan made you cry...”. Then at the end of the movie, when I saw it was dedicated to the memory of one of the two lead actresses, I started crying again.

How is your valentine day? I don't have any partner. Therefore, I play granny all day. Anyway, I think this horror game is so interesting.
