Congratulations to Abe Friedtanzer whose review of Carmen for The Film Experience is quoted in the trailer.
Sometimes studios ask about these things but in this case we were taken by surprise...
No two people feel the same exact way about any film. Thus, Team Experience is pairing up to debate the merits of each of the big awards season movies this year. Here’s Abe Friedtanzer and Baby Clyde talking about Everything Everywhere All at Once.
ABE: Baby Clyde, I hope all is well! I'm eager to start talking about a film that I absolutely loved, Everything Everywhere All at Once. I actually am very late to the party on this one. I wasn't seeing films in theaters yet back when it was originally released. I finally caught it about two months ago in early November and was impressed that it more than lived up to the hype. The performances are all phenomenal, and it's just drowning in creativity in a way that so few films are these days. But, if I'm to understand correctly, you don't agree. Before I get in to what else I loved about it, can you tell me what you didn't?

In a refreshing change of pace, the long holiday weekend box office was full of good news! Pretty much every film was up following that storm-stifling Christmas weekend. Nothing new debuted in wide release, so Avatar: The Way of Water was able to actually increase from the week before. James Cameron's movies typically have remarkable legs. Its $67.4 million haul was good enough to place it as the third best third weekend of all-time, behind the film's predecessor and The Force Awakens. Very good company to be in, box office-wise. But it wasn't just Avatar. Of the top 16 films at the box office, 13 increased from the week before!

The situation didn't improve at the box office post-Thanksgiving without much in the way of new films for people to see. That said, in the absence of competition Violent Night performed above expectations, thanks to the "Violent" in the title and its memorable marketing hook 'Santa Claus goes to war with criminal intruders in a rich family's home'.
