"Shame" Trailer, Quad, Reviews
We aren't doing a Yes, No, Maybe So on Steve McQueen's Shame since it seems we're constantly talking about it. It's like Shame Central up in here lately what with the partygoing, the quick words, Michael's NYFF review and David's LFF review (later tonight). Maybe I should try and get one of these awesomely funny mirror quads (found on Ultra Culture) to display in my apartment?
A movie poster that makes you feel all dirty inside when you look at it? Brilliant!
I am either doing accidental free PR work for Fox Searchlight or my Fassy addiction has really gotten the best of me. Between Fassy and Gosling this year, yeeeeesh. (You'd think they were both actresses or something the way I've been carrying on!)
Oh yes. Here is the trailer. It's a beauty. But the marketing department had a lot to work with given McQueen's and cinematographer Sean Bobbit's gifts with moving (and still) pictures.
On a scale of 1 to 10", how excited are you to see this?

Oh god how could this NOT be a YES? (Oh wait, this isn't "yes no maybe so, is it?") Of course all the write ups here have gotten me interested, but just those couple of lines from Mulligan display a character entirely different from the one in An Education, and I want to see more of that, more of that sibling interaction, which in a few seconds conveys and intensity that one rarely sees onscreen in sibling (brother-sister) relationships.
I saw it at TIFF and I'm still 10/10 excited to watch it when it comes out.
It's one of those films that I think, even if you don't love, you're gonna want to go back.
I feel that way anyway. Not that I didn't love it, but just saying...
On a scale of 10 to 10? Try 10000. Most anticipated film of the year for me. The marketing department is doing an incredible job. Love the poster with the wrinkled sheets.
I'm at a 9.5. I'm reserving that last .5 just so I do make my expectations too high.
I'm interested to see this, but that trailer doesn't really do that good a job of conveying what the film is actually about.
love the font type in the trailer. Something that I didn’t expect.
I'm still dying to see it (or at least getting seriously injured) but weirdly enough (or not that weirdly) I'm less excited than some time ago mostly because of your "good-not-great reaction".
T-E-N 10!!!! Very excited by this moody trailer, which reminds me of Hunger. Favourite actors of the moment in my favourite city - I'm bummed I have to wait till February when it opens in Aus.
Not crazy about that UK trailer but I'm still about a 9 on the excitement scale. My only reservation is about the eventual NC-17 rating and it's unlikely availability in my area because of that. Le ugh.
Loved Hunger, though, so I'm still all in.
The trailer isn't particularly well put together but the footage it showed looks great - particularly the acting - so I'd say it's an 8.5 in terms of excitement for me. It'll be bumped up to 9 when a better trailer is released.
You standing where Carey sang kind of makes me want to dress up as her for Halloween.
Didn't care for the trailer but very, very excited to see this.
For some reason the trailer for This Means War was embedded instead of Shame. A quick refresh fixed it, but for a second my excitement was at "Oh dear God..."
11/10

This is basically the most casual I would ever look. My hair is completely unstyled (ick!), and I don't even have eyeliner on - which is very rare!
