Glee This is a poor quality video (but the best I could find) of Harry Shum Jr (♥) doing "Cool" from West Side Story. This past Tuesday's episode was the best in some time and Season 3 seems to be returning to less processed sounding music, and more small town big talent dreaminess which made the very first episodes so charming.

⇚ Look, J Edgar has a real poster. I like it even though I also find it hideous (I blame my Gemini nature). Anyway, I'm heading out the door this moment to buy tickets to NYFF's special surprise screening. I fear that this will be the movie since they love Clint Eastwood like I love, oh, Almodóvar at NYFF... (One of their most embarrassing moments ever was when they famously thought Changeling a worthy festival entry while refusing Rachel Getting Married in 2008. Sorry, to bring it up again.... BYGONES!) Anyway... I'm hoping it's one of the two Spielbergs or Dragon Tattoo -- something Christmasy to justify the cash to see it early. But if I just blew cash on any November release that I can see in less than a month for free, I will boo-hoo.

I just bought my NYFF special screening ticket too. I am also worried that it might be J Edgar, but with that film set to debut at AFI and it having already been rated (thus not a work-in-progress), I'm operating under the assumption that it's War Horse, Dragon Tattoo, Tintin, or maaaaybe Hugo.

I saw The Swell Season at the TriBeCa film festival and it is as heartbreaking and beautiful as the songs in Once.
It's funny Julia Roberts' breasts seem to have eyes, but aren't those costumes a bit like in Alice in Wonderland? Why do some period costumes need to go for the spectacular thing? Some period costumes are spectacular already, no highlighting is needed. Well, I suppose it's because fantasy-fairy tales allow this kind of freedom.
I don't really like the poster for J. Edgar, flags (any flags) in posters remind me of propaganda posters in war times. Sorry, I can't separate the imagery in my head. And anyway, after some markets had to drop the word America from Captain America, is it a good idea to use the American flag?
I had a nightmare that I went to that secret screening at NYFF and it was Puss In Boots.
That said, I'm not going to be able to get to Alice Tully until late this afternoon (for the Shame screening) so I hope this doesn't sell out before then - unless the secret film ends up being Puss in Boots.
Also, I expect I will get no agreement on this point, but I'd take Changeling over Rachel Getting Married every day of the week. :)

Now I see EW in one of your links, how do people pronounce it? I mean, a few days ago I saw a video of the Jimmy Fallon show with Claire Danes where "ew" was some kind of expression of disgust (?). So, I'm confused.

EW is the magazine Entertainment Weekly. People just pronounce the individual letters, as opposed to making a single syllable word.
ew, however, is an expression of disgust. So, for example, you could say "ew, Twilight is one the cover of EW again!"

I agree with you about the "J. Edgar" poster. I like it even though it's ugly. Maybe I'm just happy that it isn't a lame floating-head shot of just Leo. The bar is indeed extremely low for poster design these days.
Ok, thanks Arkaan. It's just that I wondered why a magazine would like to have as acronym an expression of disgust, but if it's not pronounced as a word, then it makes sense (I suppose). I just got them wrong, because on the other hand I always thought US Weekly was pronounced one letter after the other, and then I heard it in some series "US" pronunced as the pronoun.
