First and Last, Wintry

the first and last images from motion pictures.

Can you guess the movie?

The answer is after the jump.

Congrats to Craig & Chris who were the first of many who instantly recognized this one as Chris Nolan's remake of INSOMNIA. That's Hilary Swank on that wooden pier.

Is it the Insomnia remake?

Yep, Chris Nolan's Insomnia.

2003's 'Insomnia'. Book it. I know I'm the third person to get this, but I'm just so glad I finally knew one. =D

This is still may favorite Nolan movie. 'Inception' and 'Memento' are probably better films, but I've definitely seen this movie more than any other Nolan film. Pacino's last great performance (in movies, anyway).

It's so weird to think that Al Pacino worked with Chris Nolan. Wonder what he thinks of him now...

Ugh, I knew it was Insomnia! Gotta be a better first responder next time. Like the movie, too, it's interesting seeing what Nolan did with a script he didn't pen.

I agree with James, Insomnia is my favorite Nolan film too. If only Inception had managed to capture the feeling of dreaming half as well as this film captures the feeling of sleep-deprivation, that film would have worked so much better!

Insomnia.
I have insomnia too because exams are coming ahead and it’s predicted that snow will come our way in northeast again. I mean, wtf? go away, snow. It’s almost April. Sorry, just rambling. But yeah, it’s Insomnia.

I *love* this movie. Pacino/Williams/Swank were a great trio here, I thought. Williams especially. Any insight on how come he didn't get any oscar traction for this? I thought he knocked this one out of the park compared to "One Hour Photo"....

March 30, 2011 | Unregistered Commenteris that so wrong?

This is the first time I have been right! Insomnia dude! But the I prefer the original. Darker and more pshycological
